We had a lovely evening here celebrating a family birthday for 21 people on Sat 31st March. Good choice on the menu and great service. Preplanning was really easy, Dean & Paula and staff were extremely helpful and flexible with everything. Really friendly staff, and the food was great. No complaints at all. Would highly recommend. Thanks for a great evening. Liz and John.

We have recently embarked on a small road trip across into dales and the north of England, and have stayed in three different hostelries.! We have been surprised at how much and how little you get for your money in different locations.
We received a very warm welcome , although whilst in bar area staff told us they don’t light the fire as it go too hot in the evening,! What about the residents..?
Our room was adequate and a fridge was provided, room had a heating problem soon solved, nothing was too much trouble I must say.
Wearing my Alex Politzi hat : room smartening up would be good, to nothing radical,
Picky little things and if owners were to stay as a customer they perhaps would view with different eyes. When we mentioned the television did not work, we were told they knew it didn,t sad they did not make a reduction in cost as a gesture of good will.

Food was delicious and my smoked salmon and scrambled egg was delightful a good note to leave review on.

Over all, not good value for money at this time.

We stayed 1 night as first stop in a 3 day road trip and were certainly not disappointed. They say Yorkshire folk are friendly and this is certainly true at Harts Head. The welcome was perfect, the bar staff very chatty and the restaurant staff couldn’t do enough for us. In fact everything we asked for was provided quickly and easily.
Downstairs has been refurbished and looks great whilst our room (2) retained old fashioned charm. Just one gripe, the tv wouldn’t respond to the remote but never mind!
Great beer, great food.

4 lads stayed here last weekend, as we were doing a bit of walking over the weekend. 2 twin rooms, which worked out a reasonable price for B&B. We didn't eat there but the food looked nice. We had a lovely breakfast. Friendly , helpful staff.

Our second visit in four months. Although the ground floor public areas have been recently refurbished the bedrooms have not and are very tired and dated. The bed was particularly uncomfortable.

The evening meal was good and the bar was well-stocked with some good well-kept local ales and some interesting gins.

We were told when booking that breakfast was available 0700-0900. Went down for breakfast at 0730 only to be told that the cook wasn't due in until 0800! Had to make do with cereal, juice and tea. No reduction on the bill was offered.

Unlikely to book again until the bedrooms have been refurbished.
