Friendly welcome. Room small but nicely furnished with comfortable bed. Only lamp not working and shower head faulty. Staff were very apologetic when told. Nice tea & coffee making facilities. Lovely evening meal served by helpful & friendly staff. My partner enjoyed the local beer. Breakfast too was ample and tasty.

Just needed a double room for a family event nearby. A little surprised to access the room behind the bar but heigh ho, stairs quite steep. Room and ensuite very clean and tidy. All lamps working and adequate tea making supplies. Shower room elegant but just beginning to show its age, broken fitting, missing skirting board, just small things but LOTS of hot water. Breakfast traditional and ample, no worries about top ups on juice and tea etc. Beer tasty (according to partner) and local G and T absolutely scrumptious. Pub decor traditional, scrubbed wood chairs etc, hops on ceiling etc, but clean and well presented. Would go again.

Room looked nice enough but mismatched furniture. Only one bedside light. Mirror on unit not fixed so easy to knock over. Sash broken so unable to open window (at least they had provided a fan). Curtains fell off hooks when drawn. Made to feel very welcome on arrival and evening wait staff also very pleasant.

My partner recently had a drive experience not far away from the Duke of Cumberland we were driving through and stumbled across this little gem, what a find!! Both food and service was faultless. Thank you to the staff for great service and directions to the track!!! We will definately pop in again
