Stayed just the one night on a B.B. bases through Travel Zoo and really wished we had booked for a longer stay. The building itself is very grand being the ex residence of Lord Kitchener set in beautiful grounds and golf course. Our first contact with the staff was at reception with both introducing themselves as Dominic and Emily. They were both very welcoming and professional explaining what was where and how things work. Our room was on the 2nd floor via a majestic stairway, a lift would have been welcome. The standard of our room was excellent being amazingly spacious with a large bathroom, small lounge for reading or watching tv and lovely bedroom with a view of the 18th hole with the green below us. Comfy bed therefore a good nights sleep. The down side was the bar was shut by the time we returned for the night and it was only just gone 10.
The staff at breakfast were young, cheerful and professional. The choice food itself was impressive and set us up for the long drive home. Yes we will definitely go back and this time hopefully play the golf course which as a resident is only £20. More
