Vegan burger was quality! Pints of Guinness were creamy. Staff made sure we got back to the campsite. Would 100% visit again.

Myself and my sister stopped at O'Donoghue's after a hike, hoping to have coffee and cake. Given O'Donoghue's is both a pub and restaurant, we assumed this would be fairly standard and didn't mind where we were seated.
Instead we were told we couldn't have coffee and could only have food. It wasn't lunchtime, so we bought a coffee in the shop across the road and sat on one of the three empty picnic benches outside O'Donoghue's for 5 minutes.
At that point we were told by the staff that we had to move because the tables were only for customers - even though there was nobody there, and we had tried to order from O'Donoghue's.
We understand with COVID the need to be careful, but as the picnic table would need to be cleaned before anyone sat down to eat, our presence did not constitute a risk. The incident left a bad taste in our mouth and we won't be visiting O'Donoghue's again.
Loved this pub's food and atmosphere. It was in a perfect location to our air bnb and the food was great! It was a sunny day so was lucky enough to get a seat outside with an amazing view of the Atlantic ocean, great stop and always busy which says a lot! We will defintely be back!
We stopped by for lunch and the seafood chowder and berry crumble were really delicious. The man beside us was having an amazing looking veggie burger and chips, great portions for filling you up for walks, cycles etc. All the staff were lovely and really helpful and lots of tables outside. Excellent Covid safety procedures inside when paying etc.

We were staying nearby and O'Donohues was within walking distance so we decided to give it a go.
You need to call ahead to book a time and our party of 6 was accommodated with no trouble at all.
All staff were wearing masks and adhering to social distancing protocols. Plenty of space between tables etc. Staff were lovely and attentive.
Fish was excellent - you will not get fresher anywhere!.. Deserts also went down very well!. Was given a beautiful loaf of brown bread when leaving which was a great touch and it was very much enjoyed next morning for breakfast - these are the little things that make a place memorable!
If you are in the Fanore area highly recommend you stop here for a bite - you wont be disappointed
