“Lovely private cottage to stay in whilst we visited family for Christmas”
Reviewed 15 March 2016 for a stay in December 2015

My boyfriend and I were on the island visiting family over the Christmas period and were told about this cottage by family friends. Nigel and Lorraine were very accommodating with our last minute booking - even putting a bottle of wine in the fridge and setting up a christmas tree in the living room for our arrival. The road up to The Byre is a farm track and you wouldn't know it was there if just driving past. The beds were very comfortable and the surroundings so peaceful that we slept brilliantly every night helping us prepare for the daily onslaught of a family christmas! The kitchen was very well equipped and we had everything we needed. The living room was lovely and cosy on the cold winter nights and the entire cottage was spotlessly clean. I know the Isle of Man well having grown up here and the Byre provided the perfect base for us to visit family and for me to show my boyfriend the island. I strongly recommend taking advantage of Lorraine and Nigel's endless knowledge of great walks, eateries and drinking holes on the island. And don't forget to look up - the night skies in this place are incredible!

“Don't miss out on this gem!”
Reviewed 2 August 2015 for a stay in July 2015

We were looking for last minute accommodation on the IOM and were quite limited in what was available. I was a little apprehensive booking a place with only one feedback review-but had absolutely no need! What a fabulous place! An extremely warm welcome from Nigel and Lorraine, who allowed us to use the cottage early as our flight was first thing in the morning. The cottage is equipped with everything you could possibly want, extremely spacious and beautifully furnished, with the addition of a great games room to keep the kids entertained. I would wholeheartedly recommend The Byre to anyone who is looking for somewhere to stay and hope to be able to return soon!

“Fantastic place to stay”
Reviewed 29 April 2015 for a stay in April 2015

What a beautiful, beautiful luxurious cottage to stay in and with all mod con's provided, i could not have asked for anything better.
Nigel & Lorraine are the perfect hosts and were only to happy to accept my mutt Popsy, who by the way got on really well with their dogs Thor & Molly.
There are some great walks around also only a 5 minute walk to the picturesque station of Santon where you can embark on the infamous Steam Train.
100% recommended
