Had been told to come here by just about everyone we met in Penzance, thought it wouldn't fit into our tight schedule but ended up at a loose end one lunchtime and popped in. We were lucky it was early as the place filled up pretty quickly after we got there, but the charming barmaid maintained a friendly and efficient front throughout. The atmosphere is very simple old-school pub, but clean and cheerful with comfortable seating and not too cramped. Food was excellent, beer also very good indeed. I had a simple fish and chips with Ling, brilliantly light batter and perfectly cooked fish with a splendidly chunky tartar sauce, also sampled a wonderful bisque with crunchy bread and rouille, all truly excellent. Next time we're nearby we'll be booking in for dinner and settling down for a full-on feast. Wonderful.
