We used to come to this location for truffles, but the prior owner closed in 2012 and I learned about the new ownership a couple of years ago. We finally made it to stop for dinner and we had a wonderful dinner. The ravioli with wild boar were delicious, the grilled lamb had wonderful fresh herbs, but the chef reached a sublime peak with the rabbit stuffed with artichokes. I also recommend their desserts.

a new venture apparently according to our host who has a house in the local area.
Young and enthusiastic service, decent chef and we were well looked after. English menu was produced with no fuss and a genuine pleasure in our being there.

on arrival we walked past all the lovely fresh herbs being grown outside for the kitchen's use which is encouraging. they even let us have some of their precious lemon verbena plant for a delicious tea after diner which was kind and very accommodating as we explained that it made good tea which surprised them a bit I think.

the menu was small but good - proceeded by home made and wonderfully long bread sticks.
I had seared scallops with onion and mango gel on a cauliflower puree which was perfectly cooked and seasoned correctly.
following this I chose the lamb rack, cut into small cutlets and grilled over charcoal which were delicious, juicy and pink.
I shared a cheese plate with local jams and honeys with two of our fellow diners and this was a decent amount for one person so it was good to share it. it consisted of a few goat cheeses and then some sheep cheeses with very good and homemade plum jam or a peach conserve plus local honey from Fabro, all complimented the cheeses very well.

we really enjoyed our diner here and as we left we saw they have a vegetable garden all planted up to provide yet more produce for the kitchen - a young business which is sure to go far as the food was honest and well looked after, a winner.

A very welcome addition to nearby restaurants. Not just the same old Umbrian standbys, but some innovation. Our homemade pasta with Chiania ragu was super. Next was beef cheeks, but since we had not gotten the Italian menu, we didn't know that "testina", which is calves head in Italian, was being translated as "beef cheeks". We got a plate that contained some delicious meat and some mystery stuff. The mystery stuff went uneaten. It was a busy Sunday lunch and the staff was a bit overwhelmed. They split both courses for us without an issue. I look forward to coming back and trying some of the interesting stuff on the menu. And I expect to write another review with 5 stars.
