Traditional Slovak food with great service. Ideal place to organize events.
The best goose in whole Slovakia! The place is amazing, the service is wonderful and you would like to marry the food. Jusr amazing!
Well, its hard review this place, since almost everything worked out well - the place, staff and food - all was good and i would rate this restaurant with 5 stars, if the price was 60% of what we paid.
I am fond gastronomic tourist and have lot of ecperience from fine restaurants from slovakia and europe. I was in UFO, in Afrodita Cerenany, in Sissy(hotel lomnica), and many good restaurants in Italy, Spain and over europe. But i feel, this was most overpriced place for the value, which i ever visited.
I know goose is not cheap and quality has its price, but come on, water with sirup and 2 pieces of lemon for 9 euro ? In slovakia ?
Maybe its normal in Grob (i didnt visit other places for some time), since village is very popular for roasted goose, but overally the price level at this place is something you would expect in almost michelin starred restaurant, for degustation 5 course dinner. And even if all was fine, this is not something extraordinary - its not served flambee, its not from tartufo etc. Its just local specialty.
I never realised how delicious goose was. In fact I’d categorise it as by far the most tasty bird. Of course the calorie consumption is very high due to the fact goose is fatty. Anyway, this restaurant is a must especially if you need to impress business partners for something different .
The main feature about the Goose served at this restaurant is that it is free range from “our own farm”, etc. There are even photographs of the owner Boris Hasko holding one of the geese. All sounds good except it’s a complete mis-conception. The Geese are from a factory farm in Hungary. They are prepared, heavily salted and arrive at this restaurant sealed in plastic packaging. Not exactly the Farm Fresh that is advertised and appears in the photographs around the restaurant.
