Spent a few days staying at the Maasai Simba Camp with my husband. Really enjoyed our visit, the Warriors really looked after us.
Would recommend this adventure to anyone wanting something different.
The scenery was magnificant, and the animal wildlife was great.
Would love to go back.

I have made five trips to Kenya and stayed at Maasai Simba Camp each trip. The people are friendly, the location is ideal, and the food is wonderful. Being able to spend time getting to know the people of the community is a special experience as is the opportunity to take walks among the animals. It is an incredible experience to walk past a family of zebra, gazelle, and/or giraffe. The rooms are comfortable and well maintained. This is one of my favorite places in the world and the staff have become very special friends.

We had booked a lovely tented safari in the Maasai Mara but wanted our family 2x boys 16 and 13 to experience more than a five star Kenya.
We found the Maasai Simba Camp on tip advisor and took a leap of faith and booked a four night stay.
We embraced The Pack with Purpose philosophy and were able to take about 30 kilos of school and sporting supplest donate to the school there.
We were picked up in Nairobi and after a 4 hour harassing journey down the Mombassa Highway arrived at the camp.
The camp itself is basic and in need a few repairs but was comfortable.
The itinerary of safari walks, visiting the school, health centre and water project were all valuable experiences for us. Meeting with the male elders of the tribe, chatting whilst bead making with the village women and visiting a kraal was also memorable.
It is mix of traditional meets modern society. You will see electricity poles, mobile phones and concrete plants alongside traditional enkaji housing and kraals.
A visit to the Amboseli National Park under the majestic Mt Kilimanjaro was also really worthwhile.
The staff at the camp were the highlight, they could not do enough for us. The boys were taught how to throw spears, forage for medicines and herbs and learnt the traditional dance. We will never forget our time at Maasai Simba Camp.

First and foremost, I have had the privilege of visiting Maasai Simba Camp in August 2015. Since we were a group of 20 international students conducting a research project in the Amboseli Ecosystem we decided to spend a week in an authentic Maasai camp, thus we booked a week in this fantastic 'wild home'. And what a great surprise!

This place is absolutely special. It's surrounded by exuberant nature, with some great amenities and managed/staffed by lovely locals, who certainly will make you feel like being part of a big Maasai family. Moreover, I can assure that corporate social responsibility, environmental sustainability as well as a real sense of kindness are some of the main pillars of this remarkable Maasai Camp.

For instance, we witnessed how Simba Camp takes care of the locals living in the area by financing some infrastructure projects such as a health center, a local school and a clean water plan for the nearby village. Without doubt these are some of its greatest achievements!

Lastly, I would like to encourage you to try out some of the amazing outdoor activities they have to offer. Luckily, we have had the chance to experience a unique sunrise walking safari lead by the Maasai warriors (you will spot a wide range of African Savanna animals), a bush breakfast somewhere in the Chyulu Hills and a stunning sunset waking in order to reach some hills close by, and thus to contemplate the beautiful scenery with Mount Kilimanjaro as a backdrop.

In short, if you are thinking of making a trip to an authentic place in the Amboseli Ecosystem, then I strongly recommend Maasai Simba Camp as your first option. I swear you won't regret the decision!

THUMBS UP FOR MAASAI SIMBA CAMP & ITS INCREDIBLE STAFF!

We stayed for two days in a cottage at the Simba camp. In that short time we had two walks (a dusk walk which took in meeting some Maasi locals) and a morning walk [8km with Giraffes, lots of Zebras, lots of birs etc from 6.30am-9am. We also had one hour group meetings with a) the women of the Maasai and b) the male elders of the Maasai. These were fascinating sessions. Two of the elders were over 90 years old and they stories they told and the insights into the Maasai culture were brilliant. You will get out of it what you put in - i.e. if you ask the right questions [we had a good group with us from a few nations] then you will find out a lot of interesting stuff. We took pictures and video and had a wonderful time. The camp is the middle of the countryside with no cellphone signal so great to get away from the connected world. The Maasai are going through a big change to their largely untouched way of life. Their children for the first time are going to school outside the community and 'Western' ways are beginning to influence the way they live - especially the internet and social media. It's tough to agree that it's a good thing by the way - the 90+ year old main elder talked about his six wives and fifty two children and a community that looks after its own, has a deep resepect for it's elders and until recently ate from the land with minimal impact from chemicals or pesticides. There are about 1m Maasai increasingly being drawn into the cities for work and you can see their culture being in danger of erosion. Simba Camp does an excellent job of sharing their cultiure without pressured selling [you can of course buy some beadwork but it's very nicely done] and you do feel like you are a guest rather than a tourist. It was a very special way to spend new year. Very recommended for a few days escape and exposure to a culture that sadly I think won't be the same in a couple of decades time [but secretly I hope it does].

Room tip: The cottages are fine - no electricity other than the two light bulbs. The team will charge your stuff for you.
