We stayed nearby and this pub was recommended by our host, there were four of us and we all had a different meal ranging from fish and chips to gammon and chips plus drinks.

Overall the service was quick and efficient and the atmosphere was very relaxing, the meals were delicious and we all agreed that considering the high quality of the fair we were served greed it was excellent value for money.
I would highly recommend to anyone.

Visited Anchor Inn for a special occasion with my friends for lunch on Sunday. My friends had pre-booked the table so there was issues with seating upon arrival. Its a very pleasant pub and the waiters and waitresses are super friendly. The food was absolutely exquisite. For starters we had the Artisan Rustic bread with beers and wine. Mains we ordered Roast pork Loin with crackling, stuffing wrapped in bacon, Pan-fried Sea bass fillets, Roasted pork belly & Seared scallops. Very happy with the presentation, portion and quality of food.
Highly recommend the Anchor Inn if you are visiting Wirral.

First time for myself and my wife and got to say wow! Loved it, lovely inside, sat outside and food was stunning. Had Prawn wrap for starter and cajun chicken. My wife had Portabello mushrooms and halloumi both meals and starters were michelin quality. A must. Possibly one of ...if not the best pub grub on the Wirral. Will be going back. Staff and service was amazing

I'd really like a drink. Sorry. Sorry again.

One order for a few coffees and the wheels fall off!! The staff seem to have the same polarity as the bar since they are not in any way attracted towards it!! They seem to prefer to be anywhere else...the kitchen seems favourite for a nice chat! The when you eventually get served they are to say the least a bit surly. This once great pub is on it's knees. Overpriced, filthy, understaffed and dead empty most of tye time. I reckon when the Fox has its makeover in the next few months it will have to close its doors.....or spend some money on staff who give a toss!!

Weekday lunchtime: few customers. Only two beer pumps operating. Specials menu unavailable because it wasn't printed yet. Ordered "homemade" Fish Pie. 30 minutes later (!) smallest fish pie I have seen in a long time arrives. Contents more potato than fish and very dry - forgot the white sauce? Watched while one elderly gentleman tried to place an order at the bar, however bar staff too busy talking to friends outside to notice the need to actually do some work.
Used to be good service here. Time to stop living off old reputation.
