Excellent location , beautiful picturesque place surrounded by mountains which is breathtaking. Perfect place for a wedding and for a peaceful family holiday .We had the best freshly cooked food everyday. Hosts are super welcoming and have excellent staff to help all go smoothly . The farm has an excellent set up and playing area for kids and is very safe too. Also they have great selection of tasteful wines, homemade jams and for coffee lovers they make the best flat white ever ;) ... I totally recommend and will visit wyford farm again. Thank you for the wonderful staying .

I loved the cottage and hiking around the farm. Lots of animals. It was a cool night and having a fireplace was even better. I was a little disappointed breakfast wasn't included, but there was a place not too far away.

We stayed over in the Poplar cottage for 2 nights. The cottage is quaint and cozy with all the necessary amenities. The yard is fenced so we could take our dogs with. The setting is relaxed on this working farm.

The walk to the green lantern along the old oxwagon trail is steep but worth it. Approximately 2 hours walk to there. The hosts are incredibly friendly and helpful. Well worth a visit.

As an overnight stop between Durban and Johannesburg the cute cottage is ok. It is far enough off the hiway that the traffic noise is not too bad...almost like a little river.
Our 'Jacaranda' cottage was cute and comfy. A wall heater and tiny but powerful well prepared fireplace kept us warm. The bed was comfy and equipped with an electric blanket.
The kitchen was full of items essential for cooking and there was coffee tea and sugar. And even fresh farm milk in the fridge.
Shower was a problem as we couldn't get enough hot water if we turned on the cold so as not to scald ourselves. Something wrong there in the plumbing. The place needs a bit of maintenance too.
Overall I would say a good place to stop to rest.
The owners are lovely folks and very friendly. View from the bedroom early morning was a treat. Two lovely dogs came to visit as we packed up the bike to leave.

We spent a night in Poplar Cottage. This stone cottage with fenced garden is very homely and well-equipped. My grandson loved seeing all the farm animals and we enjoyed the short walk to the river and picnic area. It was the perfect stopover between Durban and Johannesburg after my daughter ran the Comrades marathon. A relaxing, private spot with Sheila being a very friendly and helpful host.

Room Tip: Poplar Cottage was good and its loft area would be a fun place to sleep for older children.
