Really nice lunch of wild mushroom scrambled egg (revuelto) and pork tenderloin. Definitely recommended for an above average Andaluz lunch.

We had this restaurant recommended to us - and I'm glad we went. There were 8 of us with 4 kids, a few of whom are a bit fussy!! But by having the meat platter, duck and sardines, with tapa plates to start everyone was full and not a scrap of food left. The owner/ chef was very helpful when we popped in the night before for a beer and to boom the table. We were the only ones there but don't let that deter you if you are in the areas. Lovely. Oh and pedro the dog is just great!!

This was really an interesting experience from start to finish. To begin with this restaurant has two entrances which are accessed from two different streets. Both entrances have signage and opening times although only one is open! Be sure to get the correct entrance.
The restaurant is run completely by one charming guy, he is the chef, waiter, barman and gardener (these are his words, not mine). The restaurant is situated in a large garden with a lovely view - hence the name.
The actual food was hit and miss. The pork was tasty, the duck was poor. The morcilla (blood sausage) was tasty, the salad was really disappointing. It must be more difficult than not to produce a poor salad in Spain!
The portions were definitely on the small side and the chef tried to fuse local cusine with some other, although not sure what. The menu choice seemed to be very limited due to lack of ingredients; this may improve as the season takes off!
Overall a fun and entertaining place to visit though.

We had our dinner here as we heard so much good reviews from Tripadvisor. We had our black sausage for starter, it was delicious, followed by the pork sirloin, it was tender and tasty. Then we had the duck, thought a bit tough. The seasonal salad was disappointed, we informed the chef which we agreed and did not charge us.

Overall, we enjoyed our meal and the total bills was inexpensive for the food quality.

Should you ever find yourself in the small Spanish Alpujarras town of Pitres,El Mirador is the restaurant to look for. Down a side lane that links the town’s ancient main “street” with the outer main road, it’s set in a garden that offers views over the Taha Valley. There are tables under trees and, if the weather is less clement you can retreat indoors. The food is superb and amazingly inexpensive, cooked and served up by the current owner who took over and re-opened the Mirador after its closure in 2014. The menu features some great examples of Spanish cuisine: a highlight for us on two visits in early October was the traditional Bacalao – oven-cooked cod served up in a delicious sauce in a big sizzling pan. Memorable!
