This is by far our favorite Caribbean vacation spot. Starting with the warmest of greetings, the staff is outstanding throughout your stay. Opposed to most resorts, water sports are included in the all-inclusive price. There are daily exercise classes and a first-class resort gym, also included in the price. The spa overlooking the bay has many specials. The food is amazing. This property is unique in that it faces two bodies of water, the Caribbean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean, offering guests a choice of the calmer bay side or the wilder Atlantic side. This is truly a great vacation destination.

We stayed at the St James Club in March/17. The staff were helpful, efficient, and excellent. The food was wonderful at all the restaurants. After staying at other all inclusive Caribbean destinations, we were absolutely impressed with the availability of lounges and shelters on both beaches and the pools. No getting up at the crack of dawn to "save a spot", which is so ridic. Plus, we were treated like civil adults to get towels whenever we wanted, and simply return them at the end of the day. The grounds were well kept and lush, absolutely what we wanted to see after snow.

My husband and I stayed here from April 17-April 29 for our honeymoon. Everything was fantastic!
Our ride was waiting for us as soon as we got off the airplane and gave us a running history of the island while we were heading to our hotel. Once we arrived at the hotel we were offered drinks and checking in took about 10 minutes! Everyone at the front lobby was very friendly.
We stayed in the Pineapple rooms on the Atlantic side and it was lovely!! The room was beautiful with a wood vaulted ceiling and a large patio. We spent most of our time on the beaches and enjoying the resort.
Cocos Restaurant has amazing food that you order off the menu. My husband and I tried everything and all of it was hot and delicious!! Alex, Samantha, Javaire, and Yendi are very friendly and helpful!!!! Russell and Marlon make wonderful Mojitos!! We went to upper Coco for breakfast and that was amazing! It too is order from the menu and the omelette date large and full of flavor!!
We spent a lot of time before dinner at the Jacaranda lounge. Great entertainment and wonderful service!!! Andra, Bobby, Roan and Justin will make you fun and delicious drinks while you relax and listen to a DJ or music!!
The dockside has wonderful theme night food with a buffet. Everything was hot and delicious. There was always a wide variety! If you g, ask for Cordell, he's an amazing, attentive waiter!!!!
If you prefer to relax and tan on the beach, Nigel will take great care of you! He comes around on the golf cart to bring you drinks!
The Spa has a spectacular view of the bay and offers a large variety of services. Ceneida will give relaxing massage!!!
We met and spoke several times with the Managers- Jeff and Mr. Antonio Brown, and they were both very friendly, helpful, and incredibly nice!!
I cannot say enough nice things about this resort. We had a wonderful stay and can't wait to go back!!!!

We stayed recently in a beach front room on all-inclusive basis which is definitely the way to go if you have children with you. The room was a little dated with dark, old fashioned furniture - we had to request an extra single bed as the two standard doubles were simply not big enough for the four of us.
The night we arrived the resort hosted a "Half Moon Beach Party" and the other restaurants were closed so we were quite excited at the prospect of eating on the beach - however, the evening was a fiasco as we arrived at 7pm with two hungry and tired children to find no tables or chairs available; the beach was absolutely packed. We waited for about 30 mins whilst a waiter scrambled to find us a plastic table and 4 chairs - the food was pretty grim, mostly fatty meats on the bbq and empty bowls of salad. The kids waited half an hour in the queue for a scoop of ice-cream. The adults waited similarly for a plastic thimble of warm wine whilst someone had to guard our table and chairs from disappearing - not a good start to the holiday.
However, things bucked up the next day and breakfast at Rainbow was excellent, as was breakfast at Coco's the next day as we alternated between the two.
Docksiders buffet surpassed my expectations - particularly the Bollywood Night, where we had probably the most delicious curries we have ever eaten. Also the Sunday roast was good with real yorkshire puddings.
Water sports on Mamora beach were great - big shout out to Sean who took our kids out on a hobie cat, he was charming and knowledgeable, we would happily have taken him home with us. We also liked the peace and tranquility of Coco's beach; must mention the lovely Alfred who zipped around in his buggy plying us with rum punch.
Staff at the reception were fairly grumpy, I don't know if it was because they were nearly always inundated with large amounts of queries/complaints; it would have been nice to see a smile from the ladies now and again.
Internet was very sparodic so don't go to St James if you have anxious teenagers wanting to use social media; wifi not available in the rooms and iffy in most of the restaurants.
Despite the weather being patchy, we had a good week at St James - booked with British Airways holidays. However, would opt to pay more and stay at a more upmarket resort if we return to Antigua in the future.

Dear Valued Guest,

We appreciate you taking the time to review your recent stay. We cherish your wonderful compliments about our restaurants and cuisine, as our wonderful Chef works hard to provide exciting and delicious menu options!

It is with pride that we provide our guests with exceptional Caribbean experiences, and we were disheartened to hear that your disappointed at any time during your visit. We do earnestly apologize that seating took longer than anticipated, and that our Beach Party did not serve to satisfy your needs. On behalf of our staff and management team, we thank you for your honest and candid feedback.

Your time and consideration are most appreciated, and we sincerely hope you grant us another chance to demonstrate our commitment to guest satisfaction during a future visit!

I had been to Antigua for 1 day on a cruise long ago. I was in Falmouth harbor for lunch and Devils Bridge. I got the lay of the land, and knew I wanted a place away from everything but near English harbor. The St James Club was the one I wanted, thanks to Trip Advisor reviews. Well, I picked right. It was excellent. These complaints you read, I don't get it. The Atlantic Beach is fine, yes there's wind. It's in the OCEAN. The bay side, too woosie for me. The sand is soft and pale, the water is fantasic. The staff is very, very well trained. Jeff is the tall white guy, he is very nice and asks how your stay is going.
Judy at the activities desk will explain the dining and reservation setup. Coco's has a great salads for anyone who needs a salad fix. Try the local food. At breakfast there's 2 things every day to try. Good stuff!
We rented a car (@ the airport) and that was a lot of fun.
Don't bother with the restaurant you have to pay for, totally unnecessary. This is a beautiful place to stay. We loved every minute of it.
