We arrived from los angeles and about one hour south of Linate Airport, very near
Parma, we found Locanda del Lupo in Soragna. A very traditional hotel, with elevator,
For us older folks. Large comfortable rooms in traditional style with lovely antiques and high beamed ceilings. Wonderful courtyard in the center for, sitting, writing and relaxing.
Delicious traditional breakfast with gracious help and when we asked for hard boiled eggs, they were there for us! We ate two dinners there, both delicious and graciously served. When we had to depart, the bills were prepared perfectly in spite of the fact that 4 of us were ordering a glass of this or a bottle of that on the fly. We would definitely return!

Room Tip: Could be noisy with lots of guests

Locanda del Lupo is well into its third century now. In various ways the hotel shows its age: wifi is too recent an invention, so is airconditioning and as this is an old, low building, elevators would be an anachronism.
All this is more than made up for by the hotel’s atmosphere. The rooms are large and stylish in an old-fashioned way and the chairs and chests you find scattered around the hallways appear to be genuine antiques.
Our room was furnished with great attention to detail. The beds were excellent, the shower quite good and to top it all the hotel serves a good, classic breakfast.
This hotel is a good base for visiting Busseto and Roncole, Verdi’s birthplace. And, athough sadly, we didn’t try it ourselves, the hotel’s restaurant has earned a mention in the Guide Michelin.

We pulled up on a rainy evening looking for a place to stay. We'd about the place in Karen Brown's book. Soragna was quiet, and we were tired from driving in the rain all the way from Vernazza. the manager was a soft spoken man that was very accommodating. He set us up in some very nice sized, clean and comfortable rooms and took our reservations for dinner. We rested a bit, cleaned up and went down to eat. It was quiet...so quiet the man dining alone at the table next to us nodded off to sleep much to our amusement. The food was EXCELLENT! I had a risotto with a meat at the bottom. I thought it was wild boar, but the manager surprised me by revealing it was pigeon by fluttering his hands and making a whistling sound. We had a great laugh about that. All the food was great, and he recommended a fantastic next stop on our voyage. I will visit this place again.

Room Tip: No input for this as I think all the rooms are great

Stayed there for 5 days as a base to travel around the region. It is convenient to Bologna and Parma, plus i s near many scenic towns although I wouldn't classify Soragna as one of them. The hotel itself was just okay. We had a suite that overlooked the main street, however a nearby crossroad was a major route and the noise from trucks started about 4:30 every morning. The rooms and furniture were clean but older, forget television and wireless. Staff very friendly, the restaurant superb

Room Tip: stay in the back of the hotel

We went at locanda del Lupo three times ,once for lunch, once dinner and once we stayed at the hotel. The hotel experience was not bad Although I did expect rooms
To be better, they were Just tiny.
The lunch experience was good
As we went there to experience the regional cuisine which has incredible plates, we were
In a group and were extremely satisfied.
The Dinner experience is to be forgotten as for an appetizer
And first plate it took them ages , the service was slow and we wished they had plastic
Cutlery and be quicker rather than silver cutlery and make us fall Asleep at the table. My mother in law ordered a soup and itTook her like an hour to be able To get it.
In addition to this the waiters were kind of rude. You eat well ... If you do not expect much. Does not stand up to his fame , other places Around are much simpler ,offer excellent food
At decent prices and do
Not rip you Off with an attitude
!!
