We were lucky enough to discover Il Vigneto last year and having seen it online looking so romantic and perfect vineyard setting, we had very high expectations. Once we arrived we were totally blown away by the beauty of the place and more importantly how efficiently Rossano manages the place with an incredibly hard working team, who cannot do enough to make your stay as memorable as possible. We were very keen to return and managed to book the honeymoon suite at Il Vigneto for our trip to Piemonte a few weeks ago. Our stay happened to coincide with the 10th anniversary of Il Vigneto so we were more than happy to take part as we knew it was going to be fantastic. That was an understatement as the evening was incredible in every possible way with fantastic food, flowing drinks, live music and a magical sunset to top it off. We could see how much effort and long hours had gone in to making it such a great evening, we felt so honoured to be part of it. Rossano and his team really are doing a great job, so I would recommend anyone to visit Il Vigneto as it is once in a lifetime experience!

Tucked up on the top of a mountain is this very wonderful restaurant. Truffle season had just started, so our menu offered pasta with fresh truffle, rolled in butter. mouthwatering!

First course was a stunning eggplant, basil and tomato terrine with a tomato, filled with buffalo mozzarella and baked. Meal finished with 5 cheeses and some wonderful Barolo wines.

Highly recommended and excellent service

I had light "business" lunch there recently in their wonderful open-air garden area.

Wow: What an expertise in mixing flavors .. what an excellent chef work they preform there ...not to mention, what a view over the hills. I just loved how they display their assorted cheese dish and in particular that magic desert I had there (see below).

OK, let's face it. This place is about view and nothing else. The food socks not because of the quality in itself but simply because the cook does not want to engage in cooking a good meal. That's all.
It's obviously a place for those who privilege the atmosphere over the food and I'm happy there are places like that so that the real good restaurants remain a prerogative of those who really like good and quality food and don't care much about the yuppy (sooo out of fashion, guys! Get over it, please!) kind of style. NO NO NO, never again. Overly expensive for nothing.

In the land of Slow Food, in the region of Alba and Bra and Asti in northern Italy, creatively-prepared food is not difficult to find. On a recent 3-day excursion in this wonderful area, even during the Italian holiday season when many shops and restaurants are closed, my husband and I enjoyed marvelous, rustic, delicious food at several good restaurants. But, the meal we had at Ristorante Il Vigneto will long be remembered. The atmosphere is fantastic; the care with which the dishes are prepared (with local ingredients in the Piemontese style) simply unparalleled. The tuna and veal antipasti was out of this world, and the chili ricotta with clams was fantastic. The choice of wine is (of course) impressive, the service attentive without being overbearing. It was a most delicious affair. Don't miss it!
