Bland prawns and overcooked, poorly-seasoned longouste (which was reportedly the house special) at this hotel. Not sure how the excessive prices are justified.

During our trip around Corsica we enjoyed dinner at this restaurant. The served sea food tasted delicious and on top of this we enjoyed the fantastic view.

Attracted by the nice view on the port of Centuri, we took place on the terrace of this restaurant. All 4 of us ordered the fush soup. The hostess was clearly not in a good mood when we asked for a simple 'caraffe d'eau', like usually in France. The fish soup was served with rouille, bread and croutons. There was no cheese to be seen, okay this wasn't mentioned on the menu but is normally included in this typical dish, even in the most ordinary places. However, the biggest disappointment was the soup itself. It was a green and fibrous blur. When we tasted it, no notion of any fish ever coming near this soup could be found. We asked the hostess if she could explain the colour and taste, on which she went to the kitchen. When she came back, she told us "it was prepared as usual, with garlic and plain white fish only". Then, she acted as if we were this kind of stupid tourists who didn't know what fish soup is supposed to look like, let alone taste like. As if this weren't enough, this disaster was priced at €15 a portion. The total bill of over €60 could only be payed cash, since they couldn't accept ANY cards. A bit strange for a restaurant and a hotel in 1. I wonder which hotel guest can pay his 4 night stay at €110 a night in cash...

My husband and I have been coming here for years, and always bring out of town guests when we can. This is the most elegant of the 3 restaurants closest to the port, and one feels as if one is back in the Côte d'Azur during the 30's. (We have eaten at A Macciato, but this is more like picnicking - no atmosphere at all) The couple who own and run this hotel/restaurant, the Allessandrinis (very unfortunately, Monsieur passed away 4 months ago) have always been welcoming and friendly. The food: We never can pass up-- the Ravioli au Brocciu et Truffe noir (to die for), the Pasta au Gambas au sauce Saffran, la Salade au Seiche Tiede, les Moules Farcis. The wine is good and priced correctly.

If you are making the obligatory tour of Cap Course at the northern tip of Corsica a must stop for lunch is the Vieux Moulin restaurant in Centuri port. If moving in a clockwise fashion it is the perfect stopping point for lunch. The food is great but if you are fortunate to have an outdoor table then the view is even better. Service is excellent and of course you are in lobster heaven, their local specialty and worth the splurge. A more pleasant stop is hard to imagine. It may take a bit of determination to get there but ....just do it! During the summer making a reservation will ensure a desired table.
