Found this pub via TravelZoo and looking at reviews decided to make the 30min journey to try it out.
Pub in nice setting and looks good from outside, once inside it lacks a little something but is Ok.
Staff were friendly but there were lots of little issues, confusion over which table we should sit at, no cutlery when any course arrived, asked 3 times for TZ voucher which I handed over on arrival and drinks sent to wrong table.
Menu was decent and food was all Ok, good portions, hot and nicely presented.
Reading other reviews we were hoping for better but must have come on a bad night.

Had lunch at the Old House at Home on a Travelzoo voucher with my wife. Good first impression of the pub on a delightful, street in Burton combined with a friendly welcome from the “lady behind the bar”. Warm well furnished and tidy dining area. Good selection of beers, Butcombe at its best! Well balanced menu using mainly local ingredients where possible. I had Scotch Egg (made in- house) followed by Prawn Linguini. My wife had Calamares followed by Sea Bass. All beautifully cooked and presented. Faultless and highly recommended.

Fabulous meal here, attentive service, lovely surroundings and atmosphere, it can get busy so you may need to book but it's worth it! delicious mushroom pasta and good steak! We ate here two nights on the trot then sadly had to go home to Kent but would have eaten here every evening !

We have been to eat a number of times but have to say menu was seriously lacking

For £23.00 would expect a nice succulent juicy steak but it was more like a battered down steaklet. Staff were very good but whether they have had a change of chef since Halloween last year, when the food and menu was excellent. You need to get the old chef back. It’s a shame it was our ten year anniversary and we did a lot of our courting here but after tonight’s the price of the food and quality is definitely not worth it. Once again can’t fault the staff but food is poor for the price.
