“Good restaurant -- busy on a Thursday evening”

We visited Da Leonardo on a Thursday evening. The restaurant was very busy: on Thursday evenings there is a special: two set-price menus (tables d'hôte) for $30!

Despite the business, the service was friendly and welcome, if a tad slow (though nothing to complain about). Everyone in our party was satisfied: the appetizers (soup, caesar salad, artichokes) were good, as were the main courses (salmon risotto, veal, penne).

You have to ask for a Menu in English. Which they brought. The food is delicious. Our server was wonderful and very efficient. Cloth tablecloths and napkins. Very good selection of wine. Presentation of food is excellent. Had to ask for a description of some of the sauces which were unfamiliar to Americans.

I had their fettucini alfredo and it was the best I've ever had! It was light, yet filling, and absolutely delicious. The ambiance is nice, if not a tiny bit dated, but still warm and inviting. I tried some of each of my family member's meals as well and they were all just as delicious! The bread given before the meal was fantastic as well.
I would've definitely given this restaurant five stars if not for the live flies on the windows. They made supper rather distracting. I think their presence is due to the fact that the restaurant is in an old house, so they just linger around the windows, nowhere else. So I would simply recommend sitting away from the windows!

Our family was driving through and found this lovely family run restaurant! They were so friendly and welcoming. We did not speak French but it was not an issue as they were very helpful. We started with a delicious carrot soup (perfect for Easter!) and pasta dishes as our main. The lunch menu offers a choice of caesar salad or soup and then several choices for pasta. Along with larger meals like Chicken Parm. They were flavourful and plentiful. The homemade warm bread just came out of the oven was sooo good. We were too full for dessert but caught glimpses of other tables enjoying dessert and they looked amazing. Great find and so happy they were open on Good Friday!

This place is our favorite local place for mid-week or week-end dinner. The service is very friendly and helpfull, the pastas are numerous and mouth watering and in mid-week, you can go in and eat at half-price.
