Since we are English speakers but vacationing in French Canada this museum was the one we most wanted to visit in order to learn about the history of this part of the world. It turned out to be very worthwhile. We learned much about the French settlements and long history in Quebec and elsewhere. The exhibits were both educationally sound and attractive. We had looked forward to seeing this museum and it was very rewarding. We learned much!

Like many in the Northeastern U.S. my ancestors were French Canadian. And like many they did their best to become assimilated. The remembering that they speak of in Quebec was not part of our American experience. What a wonderful discovery to find in this beautiful museum that so clearly tells of the history of the French in America. If you ever been at a loss to understand the relationship of Quebec to the rest of Canada, time spent here will be well spent.

I would recommend the tour of the seminary for anyone interested in the relationship between the people of Quebec and the church. The contrast and change that has occured is clearly explaned.

Most of all I would recommend the Film by Michel Faubert that speaks so plainly of the experience of the French who came to this contenent in search of freedom. If you are of French Canadian heritage do not leave Quebec city without seeing this film.

When first entering this fascinating museum, you are confronted with a stunning church, which alone is worth a visit. The museum itself is tucked away in its own little corner of Old Quebec and it seems like you are transported right to Europe! We planned to visit for half an hour, instead we spent an hour and a half! This Museum contains some truly stunning religious artifacts!

Situated next to the Basilica Notre-Dame-de Quebec, there's no reason why you shouldn't visit this museum!
