We had a great time at Le Bonne Entente and it's a great place for families. The grounds are very nice, the beds are so comfortable and the staff was very friendly and helpful. We did a lot of sight seeing so didn't spend a lot of time at the hotel but when we did everything was great....I would definitely come back!

Room Tip: We stayed on the 3rd floor and this area was not updated like some of the other rooms

We chose this hotel based on the fact that it was featured as a 5 star property and had a beautiful looking pool on the property our family could enjoy. Christine at concierge was excellent and truly exemplified top notch hospitality. Jean our daily shuttle driver was another wonderful person to interact with at the hotel and made our daily shuttle venture enjoyable. The spa services booked were a good value I must say. The pool was as represented online. The accommodations we booked in the Urbaine section were large and well maintained by housekeeping. Those are all the positives.

Unfortunately, I have to say nothing else about Le Bonne Etente was reflective of a 5 star property. The kids club was a dark dingy room in desperate need of an update. The private lounge for the Urbaine section guests was the biggest disappointment. All of the selections were identical daily and not replenished during the periods of operation. Tables remained dirty as they were left behind. At breakfast for example, the bread was left in the standard grocery store bags, nothing like the website represented the lounge to be. It felt very underwhelming. I understand the self serve concept but there was no attention to this area to keep it tidy based on the use and flow of guests. People left used dirty plates and cups everywhere and it left very little to be desired to have to sit there and clean up after others you don't even know while away on holiday. Our last day was a Sunday and there was no attendant in the lounge to even speak to about the absence of milk onsite to even make a coffee. We paid a premium for this lounge and it felt very much like a low budget motel buffet at best. We noticed another guest calling to complain about the lack of attention to the lounge and when attendant did arrive he had nothing to say, plopped down a fruit tray and never resurfaced. Upon check out when asked about our stay and the dismal lounge was noted, a meek sorry about that is all we got. It didn't feel like staff knew how to deal with specific feedback that was rightfully negative.

The restaurant(s): {{Same place, same staff, just different indoor/outdoor areas misrepresented as different restaurants}} Both food and staff were also below expectations. It was nowhere near where it should be if a diamond star rated CAA restaurant. The pool bar we noticed open only once during our entire stay, it's like the staff was stretched too thin for it to be attended to. The Chef's daily creation of fresh calamari salad for $25 was basically your typical greasy pub fried calamari with some lettuce leaves under that soaked up all the frying oil. There was no dressing to make it enjoyable or no dipping sauce even for the calamari. Another visit to the restaurant upon leaving, I attempted the $25 crepe station brunch option. I had to go back twice as each time I had raw egg inside, it was not cooked properly. I gave up trying and didn't even bother with the sweet option that was part of my order, it was that bad. When staff asked how our meal was and I told them about the crepes not working out, they smiled and said nothing except we had a drink ticket that could not be used at our table. At this point I was definitely ready to go home.

There is definite room for updates and improvement at this hotel. If the property and pricing structure were offered as a 3 star and that is what I signed up for then that would be fair enough but we expected more.

Room Tip: Urbaine rooms were up to date.

The grounds are amazing including the artificial pond. There is ample secured parking. The hosts and servers are all friendly and attentive to their patrons. The food is good although I would not qualify it as fine cuisine. However, access to our modern "Distinctive" rooms was awkward as you have to go up the stairs walk along the corridor then back down.

Wow the rooms and beds were so comfy! Went on business and the food was good, the meeting rooms big and well equiped and overall staff very friendly. Would definitely recommend and go back.Only thing I didnt test was the spa because of weather but it looked fantastic.

We’ve been coming to Quebec City for years but never stayed far from the Fort. This year we decided to change that, hence our stay @ Le Bonne Entente. After a long exhausting day exploring this beautiful city, being able to retire in a place like this hotel is a plus! This place offers the kind of tranquility we’re looking for. Customer service is tops. Didn’t get the chance to explore the grounds due to lack of time but we will definitely book this hotel in the near future.
