SAKEO was one of the first eateries where I tried sushi and I have become a monthly patron. There are other dishes on the menu, however, more often than not, we end up having sushi. Our first course is always something called "le rouleau mexican", (Mexican roll) strangely enough. Then we order other delicacies which we always enjoy.

This establishment boasts a "bring-your-own-wine" policy which renders your dining experience very reasonably priced. When you become a regular, the owner (a charming lady) greets you warmly and sometimes even offers you a free pot of tea and dessert!

Reservations are highly recommended, especially during the weekends. Lately, we've been going during the week, and we find the atmosphere much calmer since groups of 4-6 often dine Friday and Saturday evenings which can make for a rather noisy ambiance. During the academic year, college and university students make up a big part of the clientele. So, if you're a couple looking for a quiet evening, go during the week like we do, or go before 7:30 p.m.

The food is excellent, one of the best place for sushis. I have tried many plates other than suhis and eveything is delicious! In addition, the service is also very good, I would certaintly recommend this place. If you love sushis and oriental plates, you will enjoy the food. Price is very cheap and you can bring your own vine which is great!

Amazing food, it is one of our favorite BYOW restaurant. Food compares to the finest Asian restaurants in Montreal. The green papaya salad and the tempura are outstanding.

Sushi is always fresh, specialties are great but a little pricey. Otherwise, dishes come in large portions, with a small soup and two imperial rolls on the table d'hôte, all for ±15$. The fact that you BYOW makes the check cheap. If it's your birthday, you'll have a surprise.
