Description: Seven nights a week, local bands take the stage at Montreal's hottest Jazz bar and bistro. Modavie's spirited setting sets the scene for a night of great tunes, top dining and generous pastis toasting. The bistro's far-reaching wine menu hits just the right notes and helps round off succulent lamb, fish, beef and inspired pasta dishes.

I had dinner at Modavies with a friend on a Wednesday. The restaurant was relatively full but the service was good. The salmon fillet with fresh vegetables was also very nice. Due to the location and the great live band the prices are not the cheapest.

We had dinner at Modavie earlier this week. The food was very good, although some of it was a bit cold. The restaurant, however, was packed to the roof so there was a bit of a wait for the food and I'm not surprised that some of it wasn't hot. Still, it was very good. The waiters were attentive although they seemed to be short on staff. Overall, our impression was such that when we go to Montreal in the future, we'll eat at Modavie again.

Good food and ambiencent for lunch and food was delicious. I had the onion soup to start and followed with salmon tartare. Real tasty. My wife had the pan seared salmon which also tasted delicious. My son had the steak frites ... can't go wrong with that. A bit pricey, but quality food and worth it. Service a little slow when we first sat, but our waitere. We w did finish in great style and did a very good job overall. Absolutely recommend.

We went here for dinner with my godson who is at McGill. We had a fabulous evening eating excellent beef and drinking red wine. There was a jazz ensemble playing who received huge applause.

What a wonderful evening! We arrived a little early for a 7:30 reservation but were seated right away. Our server, Rad, was courteous and attentive the entire evening making this such an exceptional experience. We ordered the best lamb chops and duck confit ever, followed by creme brulee better than what you find in New Orleans. To top it all off, the ambiance in the restaurant was perfect for our lovely dinner. Don't miss a chance to enjoy this exceptional restaurant for yourselves, and be sure to get reservations - It is very popular!
