If your a visitor that likes to wander real neighborhoods in the cities you visit, get a feel for how people actually live, this is a place to check out. There aren't any must-see sites in this neighborhoods, but there are lovely cafes, parks, and cute streets packed with charm and locals. This was my second visit to Montreal, and I was glad I visited this area both time.

My wife & I stayed in this very popular residential area of Montreal not far from the city centre. Approx just over 30 mins to the city centre.
Plenty of charming townhouses & flats dominating this residential part of the city,
with the main streets - Avenue du Mont Royal & Ru Saint-Denis which are lined with cafes, restaurants, laid back eateries, busy bars with a mix of galleries and theatre's too.
Supermarkets & fruit stores including delies for the shoppers are close by for residents and tourists.
Besides residential areas their are beautiful parks as well to enjoy too, one large park - Parc La Fontaine is situated close by with a large pond / fountain as well as playing areas for sport - baseball, soccer etc.
Lovely sealed pathways going in all directions throughout the park for pedestrians, cyclists & runners.
Autumn was when we were visiting the city.
Recommend to tourists & locals to enjoy these places during spring, summer & autumn.

A nice enough area but nothing spectacular, walked there from downtown, didn't feel it was anything that was different from any other district in a big city. Nice but not spectacular.

It’s true... I visited the plateau a few times on vacations to Montreal (from vancouver) and now I live here. It’s such an amazing place, with amazing restaurants and bars... close to the mountain and the city. It is also full to the brim with amazing art including many massive murals. Also, for vegans and vegetarians, this is the best place to find great food in the city!

We stayed in an Airbnb in this neighborhood and it was amazing. Great restaurants, bakeries and cafes within walking distance. Lots of parks in close proximity. Interesting shops. Quite young and hip demographic. Gorgeous graffiti murals everywhere. Beautiful and iconic houses everywhere. Loved this neighborhood!!
