My husband and I stumbled upon this restaurant while in Montréal. What a lovely surprise to find Peruvian food! No, we haven't been to Peru but to us it was a delightful experience eating foods we haven't eaten before.
We had The Breakfast: blood sausage, sweet potato chips, a type of polenta croquette, and fabulous marinated pork.
At the time, 11:00, it was the only dish they were serving.
The restaurant is filled with (Peruvian?) families - all talking, laughing, enjoying the food, and doing what you seldom see American families doing any more. No cell phones used, no texting, no video games. Very satisfying.
A most refreshing experience!

Realizing one cannot ever get "top shelf" cuisine outside of Peru,
this simple, clean, family style restaurant comes quite close. Kind of a "mom & pop" atmosphere, I found the menu clear and prices average for Montreal. Can get crowded as muchos Peruvians come here for lunch and dinner. Little hard to find, but street parking in neighborhood is ok.
Well Worth a Visit and ...Remember to say, "Buen Provecho" to your fellow customers to strike up a welcoming conversation.

This restaurant does not represent the real Authentic Peruvian cuisine for the ''Connoisseur''. My husband order the Lomo Saltado and was not at all impressed with the quality of the meat (hard and rubbery) or the quantity of the whole dish, and for the Seco de Cabrito, they served me a hard-fat piece of beef instead, along with a very stretched watery bean purée that really takes away from this famous Peruvian dish. Clearly this is not Peruvian cuisine at its best!

If you're looking to discover a taste of Peru in Montreal, this is an excellent place to do so. Tucked away off the beaten path, this gem of a restaurant offers copious, authentic Peruvian cuisine. This was actually my second time to the restaurant, after discovering it several years ago. It was every bit as good as I remembered from my first visit. It is a small place with very warm and friendly staff to serve you. The dishes were quite tasty as well as being copious. With Peruvian decor and a couple of televisions broadcasting South American channels, you tend to forget you're in Montreal while here. Definitely a good place to eat!
