I stayed here with my wife and 1 year old. The rooms are a getting close to needing an update, but is nice enough. It is nice to have a separate bedroom from the living room when traveling with a child, and it is also nice to have a small kitchen. The bed is a little small for two adults. The staff’s service lives up to the star level for this hotel, and met all of our requests. The location is right in old Montreal, and there are tons of cafes, bars, and restaurants within a few yards. Overall, I would stay here again.

Dear ybselgo,

Thank you for staying at the St-Sulpice while in Montreal. We appreciate your great comments. We are presently in the midst of an upgrade program. We have 2 floors left to do and will be done by February. We also have rooms with king beds, for your next stay.

See you again soon.

Sincerely,

Yanick B.

We had a great three-day stay for our honeymoon and loved the central location and friendly staff. The room was spacious and very comfortable and quiet. Only small frustration was how long it took to get the car from the garage on site, be sure to allow as much time as the ticket clearly indicates one should. Highly recommended all things considered.

Dear Uvedale.

Thank you for the perfect score on this review.

I am sorry you had to wait a bit for your car to be retrieved. We do recommend allowing 10-15 minutes. Unfortunately, the narrow streets of Old Montreal are very charming, but can create a bit of traffic sometimes (horse carriages, for example). Thank you for your understanding on this matter.

Sincerely,

Yanick B.

Such a wonderful hotel right in the midst of Old Montreal. Convenient to Basilica and the Port but even more so hospitable to those who enter in. The rooms are just so fantastic looking over the garden just beckoning one to enter and relax the evening away. Plenty of room and the beds were just perfect! I would stay again and again if I were there . I was not as impressed with breakfast at restaurant there but the brunch menu looked great - just no time to stay that long

Saint-Sulpice was the hotel highlight of our US and Canada trip.
The Loft room was spacious, well equipped and very quiet.
All the other services of the hotel matched that high standard.
And to top it off it is within walking distance of just about everything in this charming city.
And the Bellstaff and Concierge can point you to the best things to see and the best places to eat.

My husband and I arrived off a cruise ship around 10 am on a Friday. We called ahead to tell the front desk that we were headed their way. In summary, we had to wait over 6 hours for our hotel room. We had a superior suite (614) which was beautiful and spacious, but to have to wait until 4 pm with the hotel knowing we were waiting in the lobby, seemed a bit ridiculous. While check-in is officially 4 pm, we felt there was no reason why, with a premium room, the housekeeping staff could not do those rooms first, knowing we were waiting and with my husband in a wheelchair.
While we were waiting, we managed to get an ice cream from the store up the road and brought back to the hotel to eat. We were in the lobby eating our ice cream when we were told there was no food allowed in the lobby. Since there was no other place to wait for our room for those many hours, we felt this was unfair. We ate the damned ice cream anyway!
When we finally got to our room (did I tell you my husband was in a wheelchair?) the room was very spacious, but the shower glass was installed in the wrong place and when you took a shower, all the water ended up on the bathroom floor! The lighting in the room was poor and the dressing mirror was on the back of the bathroom door, which we didn't find until later.
Don't know why there were bottles of wine in the room @ $49. Large bottles of water would have been better.
The concierge personnel were great and really helped us with restaurants, baggage, etc. and are probably the best asset the hotel has right now.
The restaurant was nothing to write home about. The food was mediocre.
Our room 614 had a small balcony and overlooked the interior gardens. It was a nice room and reasonably quiet. Our friends had a room on the other side of the building facing the street and they said it was very noisy throughout the night. Not sure it was all worth the premium price.

Dear bookalukus,

I am sorry your experience wasn't up to your expectations.

I have just sent you a direct message for more information. There is no such thing as an interdiction to eat in our lobby. To the opposite, we encourage people to gather and meet in that space. With additional information, I will be able to take proper measures and ensure this situation is corrected.

Other points from your review have also been adresses in the direct message.

Best regards,

Yanick B.
