The St Paul is a well taken care of beauty. From how they utilize light on the old facade on the outside, to decoration in elevator and hallways - this is classy and playful and has a modern gothic flavor. The rooms are modern, with good security, fast reliable wifi, and free bottles of water, and a very comfortable bed. Breakfast is outstanding quality rather than full breadth of option. This was the best croissant I had in North America. Downsides? Not really. The bath tub/shower curtain was a bit out of place with regards to style and niveau. You might have expected a tea or coffee maker. But I loved the personal note and the radiant smile of the chambermaid in the elevator.

Very classy and lovely boutique hotel. Conveniently located. Great easy, early check in. Smooth check out. The house keeping staff were delightful and so accommodative to my room schedule. The linens were superior and what a comfortable bed!! The gym was a bit basic but was sufficient for a few days. I would return for sure!

The St Paul is perfectly located in the old Montreal on McGill Street. It's walking distance from the metro station and offers a parking if you drive your own car.

The common areas are very comfortable, nice smell and great design.

The rooms are big with a nice contemporary design. We were in a corner room offering a lovely view on both sides.

The king size bed was very comfortable.

They provide nice bathroom amenities and complimentary Nespresso coffee.

The service is perfect : Kind, efficient and smiling.

The breakfast is very simple with a limited choice but good.

The bathroom could have been cleaner. We found hairs left in the bassin and the cotton pad that fall on the floor did not move for the 3 days of our stay. Despite this the bed sheets were changed every day and perfectly clean.

Very dark. Especially the elevators. There was next to no lighting. Hallways were very dimly lit with weird pink/red uplighting. Could hear everything in the hallways so was kept awake until 2am when people stopped coming. Housekeeping was vacumming at 7am. So no sleeping in. Worn out velvet and mirrored top furniture not for me. I dropped something on the floor and when I looked under the bed it was gross and filthy. So disgusting.

Dear jemxception,

We are sorry to read that your stay at Hotel St Paul did not meet your expectations.

Hotel St. Paul is an authentic hotel boutique and recognized by the international association of Design Hotels. As you noted, the corridor and elevator lights are dimmed (even one wall of our corridors is black) and it is intended to be this way. This is part of the spirit of the hotel and targets the sense of sight. The eye pupils of our guest opens up during the walk to the room and become dazzled when entering the room, brightly lit by large windows. The hotel plays with the 5 senses, and this is how the sight is sought. We even have a black suite that extends the feeling of serenity beyond the corridors, so at the opening of the shutters, a glimmer of light awakens our senses.

The lights color in the corridor have changed, they are now purple.

As for the housekeeping issue, it will be brought to the attention to the head of department. Please accept our sincere apologies. if you heard a vacuum at 7am, it means that it could not wait any longer as the housekeeping crew begins at 9am on week days and at 10am on weekends.

We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back to the hotel in the future and regain your trust and your loyalty.

Yours in hospitality.
