Quite a small restaurant with cache. NIce to place to visit in the winter and sit by the fire pit in the wall in the back of the resto. Enjoyed the tasting menu of 5 dishes, each accompanied with a different glass of wine. Each dish was a pleasant experience, with the ribs being the favourite. As should be in a tasting menu, portions are small but satisfying. Witnessed very generous portions of beautifully prepared meat at the next table. Will be back to experience the regular menu and servings. Service was good but a bit slow. Would have liked to take more time discussing the wines that were poured. This was a weekday visit and the resto was not full; might be a good time to go back.

On our first night in Montreal, we found it difficult to find late night food, but the Grange served us one of the best charcuterie boards ever, which we washed down with some great Unibroue beer. The board had crusty French bread, two types of salami, smoked ham, three types of cheese, including a Guinness cheese (which was fantastic), pickles, and mustard. The bar area was very nice, and service was great.

I had wanted a late reservation, but had to get an early table--apparently nothing was able. So I was pretty annoyed that the restaurant remained half empty well into the evening. When we arrived, no one greeted us for a while--even though there was a table for two already seated. After we were seated, service was great. The food was surprisingly good--excellent tuna appetizer (recommended by the waiter), great scallop appetizer, array of delicious entrees. We were delighted with the food.

One of the best restaurants in old Montreal! Very cozy, great atmosphere and great service. A nice wine list and everything on the meny is delicious. Their "must try" is their mac n cheese.
