I have stayed here twice. The location is close to everything in the old historic part of town and right in the waterfront for scenic views. The rooms are very spacious and clean. The restaurant is more than adequate. The staff are very friendly.

Lovely hotel - all good things on location, quality of rooms & service, amenities that we enjoyed. But the best part was the way Luke Thompson, manager responded to a housekeeping problem in our room. His response was quick, thoughtful & delightful to receive. The hand written note explaining the issue & resolution was well done. Luke is a great representative of your property and I could not have been more pleased to work with him. As we had dinner at the MerchantMan, we told people of your response. (PS Luke, we never did hear from the executive housekeeper, but following your response would have been difficult. Thanks again!).

Extremely comfortable room with beautiful view of the harbor. Staff very helpful and accommodating. Breakfast a bit expensive but they will provide 1/2 portions of oatmeal and fresh fruits for 1/2 price if you ask.

This is a great center point in PEI if you plan on doing the various travel drives. Hotel is nice and the staff very helpful. Also, one of the few hotels part of an American chain (Marriott, Hilton, etc. not a lot of choices on the island) Have to do a call out to Julie (hope I got the name right) the concierge who was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and gave great recommendations on food and locations. She was one of the best we come across. So the good points: hotel is central location to start any of your drives and after the long drives –the location is great to walk around to get diner, drinks, ice cream or do some light shopping (not a ton of places, but that is the entire island –very low key and quaint). Also great location if you want to see the play. Bad points: If you are looking to spend a lot of time at the beach and just relax, pick a hotel, cottage that is closest to the national beaches. This was our first time to PEI and for the first time exploring we picked the right hotel. When we go back and just want to relax we will stay closer to the national beach as we found that the exploring is a lot of driving with some great sights, but once you do it once –settle down to an area you love-and we love the national beaches. All should keep in mind that PEI is great for the natural beauty and there are lots of things to do, however if you are coming from a larger city or traveled to other tourist destinations -the descriptions of large shopping areas, or even beach descriptions go by PEI standards of nice and quaint, you might be expecting a lot more then what you come across. However you will not be disappointed by the natural sights and the relaxed atmosphere.

Greetings Franklange119:

Thank you for your detailed post on our hotel and area, and advice to fellow travelers! Thank you for acknowledging Julie from our Concierge team. Julie receives many kudos for her knowledge and providing wonderful itineraries to allow our guests to explore Charlottetown and the Island. Our location right on the waterfront and proximity to local shops and theatre makes for a great home base as you indicated. Beaches are 20 to 30 minutes away and we do provide complimentary beach kits which include towels, sunscreen, mats and of course pails and shovels to help you make the best sandcastle ever! Thank you again for your detailed post and wishing you continued safe and enjoyable travels.
