Description: The Hot House Restaurant & Bar is one of the busiest restaurants in Toronto and the reason is clear... Great food. The Hot House offers spacious, colourfully decorated rooms and an upbeat atmosphere in addition to an eclectic menu to suit all tastes. From thin-crust gourmet pizzas to steaks, rack of lamb, Cajun shrimp, numerous pasta dishes, seasonal salads, and decadent desserts, this menu has it all, including an extensive vegetarian selection. The Hot House Restaurant & Bar also has an extensive selection of wines from around the world, as well as an impressive cocktail menu and a selection of offerings from Canadian microbreweries. The sun-drenched 150 seat patio at the Hot House is an excellent setting to sample some fine Italian wines, Canadian craft beers, or the one of the best mojitos and margaritas in the city. In addition to the patio and the eclectic menu, the Hot House also offers group menus and private areas ideal for birthdays, showers, office parties, meetings, or any other function.

We visited The Hot House again tonight. January is a good time to visit since all food items are discounted by 50%. The deal is good for all a la carte items from Sunday to Thursday all month. We started with a Tomato Basil Soup, a New England Clam Chowder, and a Caesar Salad. All were satisfying. We also shared a Truffled Crostini which was very good. For entrees I had Rack Of Lamb, excellent as usual with their wonderful mashed potatoes. My wife had the Lobster and Crab Tagliatelle and found it excellent but difficult to finish because of its size. Our third meal was a Rib Eye Steak and was equally good. When we want to have an excellent meal without concern for consistency, we always choose The Hot House. We will continue to do so for another year. Our waiter was also great.

Had 6 at the restaurant for New years eve, was expected to be loud..and it was..but my guest made up for that it as well. Celebration of the old and a start off a new one year.. Food was great, a set of a veriaty of set meals to place an order from.
This restaurant is a place I tend to go on a regular base..a place visit and take in the city afterwards. .

This was our second time eating here. The first time the service was great as was the food. The second time, the food was great but the server mailed in the service. She is heading back to college so perhaps sees this as her last days at this job. She neglected to bring bread not only to our table but when we arrived we heard her apologize for not bringing the bread in a timely fashion to the table beside us. She interupted conversations by just talking over the person that was speaking when she arrived at our table. She asked how the food was but was leaving before the answer could be given. Out of two visits we have seen one excellent server and one bad one. The food however was consistently well prepared and presented.

We came in for an early dinner. My son and I ordered coffee maple Manhattans, and they were not great, mainly because they did not really resemble Manhattans, and they were too sweet. Also, the foam on top was just not Manhattanish. I had the Waikiki pizza, and it was quite good. The rest of our party had the curried chicken and the jambalaya, and while both dishes were good, they were nothing too special. The prices here are a few dollars more than in most places, and I am not sure it is worth it. Having said that, this restaurant is well-located near the St. Lawrence Market, and there is nothing wrong with the food. Decor is simple. Service is polite, but again, nothing special.

Service was pretty slow. But the food was good - standard, but still good. Didn't knock my socks off, but still good for it's value. I would recommend the burgers, they're pretty good!
