Description: Owner Shigeo Kimura founded Ginko Japanese restaurant in 1982. Over the past 25 years Ginko has evolved to bring the finest Japan has to offer the Toronto area. The name Ginko is derived from the word "Gingko" an ancient oriental tree. The tree flourishes in season to produce a yellow fruit and unique, fan-shaped leaves, which turn a beautiful golden color in the fall. Held in high esteem by the Japanese as a symbol of prosperity, the "Gingko" tree only begins to grow it"s golden seeds on it's 20th year of maturity. The journey of the "Gingko" tree and Ginko are one in the same, a continual evolution of expression of nutritious, healthy and tasty food. Located inside DoubleTree Hotel near the airport, our staff strives to bring you, our guest, a traditional and modern Japanese cuisine that is sure to enlighten all taste buds.

We were in the area for a large event happening at the congress centre and several of the hotels in the surrounding area. A friend and I were in the International Plaza for a panel, and were looking for something other than quick fast food for dinner. The exterior of the restaurant is what initially prompted us to investigate, it's beautiful in a calming, subtle way. They were incredibly busy but the service was fast and the waitstaff was friendly. The interior is beautiful and feels warm and peaceful, and the kimono uniforms wore by the staff are elegant.

Both my friend and I regularly order and cook Japanese food, but agreed that their miso soup and gyoza were the most delicious we'd ever had. The sushi was also skillfully crafted and the fish tasted fresh. The tempura and teriyaki chicken were also quite enjoyable. They also had a wide selection of sake available, both warm and chilled, which paired wonderfully with our meal.

We will definetly be returning when we are back in the area, and would recommend it to anyone staying in, or near, the hotel. However, if you are planning on going around dinner, it might be a good idea to make a reservation.

Went for dinner the first night of our weekend stay in Toronto. We ordered the early dinner Bento Boxes, early dinner special $19 for a huge bento box of Japanese yumminess. They have a Sushi bar along with many tables. The decor is very nice feels like you are in Japan as the wait staff is dressed in Kimono, along with the wooden sandals. We were so full after devouring the bento boxes four of us shared 1 dessert. Will be sure to eat here on my next trip to Toronto

Came here with my mom while staying at the hotel for a layover in Toronto. The food was so delicious we ordered several times! Couldn't get enough of this high quality sushi! We also tried hot sake for the first time(by the suggestion of the waiter), which is a great supplement to the already perfect food. The staff was super friendly and very helpful with suggestions. Would definitely come back if looking for dinner in the TO airport area.

Me and My Wife was here Last Night, we were treated Respectful by the Host and the Service was Good, We had Sushi and the Food taste was Excellent, The Atmosphere was Excellent too, We were satisfied, the bill including Tips was about $187.00, We were glad to be part of Japan, Only thing I disliked was the JAZZ Music, When I want to feel like I am in Japan eating Sushi I will go to Ginko, but you must play JAPANESE MUSIC.
