The Campbell House is on Queen Street and is a very short walk to Nathan Phillips Square where the Old and New City hall buildings are located which makes visiting all these places in short order. The Campbell name comes from its first owner who was a prominent justice in early Toronto. To gain entrance and have a tour guide we only had to give a donation. it's one of the very oldest homes in Toronto having been built in the first half of the 1800s and was built in a typical Georgian style. It's original location was a few blocks from here and it was moved in recent years to its present location. The very good tour took you through several rooms that was filled with period piece furnishings. One room had a temporary art exhibit. One of the most interesting rooms was the basement where the kitchen was located. If you enjoy visiting old homes then this one is quite good.
