During this pandemic, a family member was stuck in Toronto with no place to go and having had her wallet stolen, leaving her only with one piece of photo ID. As you can imagine, she was beside herself. On top of everything, she had a leg ailment and could not walk easily. We booked this hotel because it was very close to where she happened to be and seemed to be reasonable in price. We didn't step foot in the hotel after paying the fees and booking the place, because the management refused to be flexible. They refused to take cash for a "fees deposit." They refused to take a credit card over the phone for the "fees deposit." They refused to accept a credit card payment for two extra days online (my suggestion) since it matched the deposit amount (surpassing it by a few dollars even). They refused a faxed or email credit card authorization and sent our family member into the bitter cold very late at night with no place to stay (AFTER we already paid). In this terrible pandemic, with all the difficulties being faced by people, it was shocking to experience this abject cruelty by the administration of this horrific hotel. Regardless of what's inside or what they offer, they should not be graced with business due to their completely uncaring and cruel attitude. in contrast, we found two wonderful hotels (one basic and one luxurious) who were willing to be flexible on their check-in procedures for a person in need, given these unprecedented times. I vowed when I had some time, that I would ensure this became public knowledge online.
