We were looking forward to having lunch and found you had gone from the location on Erie St.; we were saddened and took lunch elsewhere. Next day, while walking about town between plays we were delighted to find that the York Street Kitchen had returned to it's former premises on York St. In celebration, we joyously ordered a take out lunch and enjoyed it at picnic benches on Tom Patterson Island, not far from the Festival Theatre and our matinee show.

The place appears to get very busy at lunch and all the tables were occupied. A number of people elected to get their orders to go, and the staff were also working on orders phoned in or send in via and App on their smartphones. Be prepared for a 10-15 minute wait during peak periods. The sandwiches are good and for us, worth the wait.

We'll be back, try not to make us play hide-and-seek next time.

Parked across the street and walked in. Chose the communal table, always enjoy company but started out alone. My wife had the Canadian club, she thought it was great. The roasted tomato mayo hit a high note. I had one of my fav Sammies, Rueben. Was decent enough, plenty of meat. Also ordered the Cole slaw and a side of pickles. Pickles were great, the slaw left something to be desired, on the blander side. My wife had a pot of tea, Tetley's, nothing special, and I had a plain cup of Joe. The table was soon after arrival enliven by another couple. Great conversation followed. Both myself and my wife left satiated both in our food choices and spirit.
Recommended.

We shared the sandwich special of the day, and split a burrito bowl. The food was all of fine quality. The staff was very helpful, and even served our meal already split in half. We ordered two sandwiches to go for the drive home. The staff encouraged us to return the next morning for the sandwiches to be freshly made. We ordered them for 9:30 a.m., and they were ready for pick up even though they opened later than that. Now that's good service.

We celebrated a birthday this afternoon at York Street Sandwiches. The food is amazing, Ted our server made the experience number 1. So knowledgeable about the menu, we had some vegetarian and vegan and he ensured a delightful lunch for both. His interaction with our table made our afternoon. Thanks Ted....

Every year during our visit to the Stratford Festival, we look forward to the delicious sandwiches from York Street Kitchen. We take a sandwich, a bag of chips, and a soft drink and have a picnic beside the lake, before heading to the theatre for an afternoon performance. Our favorites are the Thai Chicken (a delicious change from an ordinary chicken salad sandwich), the Othello (roasted vegetables, pesto and creamy goat cheese), and the Mikado (rich in tuna and crunchy vegetables on multigrain bread).
