My husband and I went to Joey's for dinner last night and something seemed very different. The staff were very friendly, food was great but... the portions were a lot smaller than last time for the same price. Our bill came to just over $60.00 for fish and chips and one drink each. The fish seemed smaller and the fries were just spread out to make the plate look fuller. You had a choice of a small cup of mushy peas or coleslaw There was no bread rolls that came with the meal which I thought there would be for that price. Anyways we won't be going back for a long time. This place has been around for a very long time and looks a little outdated and very informal casual setting but certainly over priced for what you get.

As soon as you walk in you're greeted with a smile from a very friendly staff! It's a lovely little restaurant where you can go in for a quick bite to eat, or sit down with some friends for a good meal. I've never been disappointed with the food, and beings as I'm not a huge fish fan, it's rare to say that. I'm always looking forward to my next trip in to Joey's!

I found this place to be okay, not great, just okay. Now having said that I have to tell you that this place has a loyal following who are mostly older. Our 87 year old family member has raved about this place for years and we finally gave it a try.
Upon entering you will be greeted by very friendly staff who recognize the regulars and make a fuss over them. Our waitress was Jamie who was friendly and attentive.
I started my meal with a large Lobster Bisque ($8.00) which I thought was quite good. My partner had the Taco Dinner ($13.00) which was good ( but not as good as the ones on the West Coast of Canada where they have mastered this dish), I went all out with the Triple Catch ($19.00) which had pieces of Cod, Halibut, and Haddock with fries. I don't care for cole slaw and was very pleased to be able to substitute brown beans for no extra charge. I thought they were a little skimpy on the portion of fries but later our waitress offered us all more fries as they are all you can eat fries here. My partner and I finished up the meal with Mud Pie ($4.00) - Mocha Ice Cream and Oreo Cookie Crust, which I thought was pretty good.
So to summarize, I thought it was okay, but if you're a senior the consensus seems to be this place is great.
