A good friend of mine referred me to this restaurant and I couldn't be happier! The staff was very fast and friendly, which was a HUGE plus! We ordered Tacos del Norte and Rollos de Pollo and everything was delicious! Great place for a romantic date. Completely exceeded my expectations! Highly recommended!

We dropped in to listen to the jazz ensemble. Unfortunately the sound system was not working. Sound technician was frustrated with the arrangements and so were the clients. Expectations to serve good food, sizzling drinks and smooth jazz maybe too much for management?

We were there on a nice warm day and the front windows were open. After sitting down and ordering, a staff member decided to clean the bar, which was near our table. Instead of spraying the cleaning product onto the cloth, she sprayed the cleaning solution into the air, aiming at the bar, however, because the front windows were open, the spray had a backdraft and sprayed all over us instead. She didn't seem to notice or acknowledge what she had done. I have seen this done at other restaurants too...

Our waiter came by and we ordered. We liked our food and enjoyed the atmosphere and service. The menu has some great choices and we will definitely return.

We strolled through the Byward Market to find a place to celebrate our wedding anniversary, only to find most places full with an hour's wait minimum. We had tapas & drinks in mind so stepped into Mambo Nuevo Latino despite the tepid reviews we had seen on Tripadvisor.

Whatever poor reviews we had read, they did not apply this time. We got very knowledgeable and attentive service from Shantelle with great recommendations for food and drinks - sharing platter was just the thing we wanted to have. The chorizos were yummy, steak cooked just the way we like it, and seafood was fresh and nice spiced.

That being said, I would change the welcome popcorn to a small bowl of homemade nachos & fresh salsa or fresh spiced nuts to up the ante. Also, I agree with some other reviewers about the views - downstairs by the window you look at a parkade whereas top deck surely is the way to go.
