This is a wonderful place to reflect on how much has been given our country by those who have served in armed conflicts throughout our history. The respect shown by those guarding the memorial, the bagpiper leading the formations during the changing of the guards, and the somber attitude of the visitors to the memorial, a quiet and dignified spot in the middle of a busy intersection, contribute to a moving experience.

The National War Memorial a/k/a "The Response" and Tomb of the Unknown Soldier added in front of the memorial commemorates those who passed in the World Wars, Korean War, Second Boer War, War in Afghanistan, and all those killed in conflicts past and future.

This is a stunning memorial, the skill of the artists involved is extremely evident. It is one of those sculptures that can captivate one for hours and hours. Only quibble is I saw several tourists being quite disrespectful and standing on the memorial for photos. if you do so, don't be surprised if a rather cross solider yells at you and rightly so!

Change of guard takes place every hour during day time. It is a small ritual, which is must to see and eye catching. Guard deputed there are just like statue.
