Description: Step through the doors and back into history! The Olde Angel Inn (Circa 1789 - burned down as a result of the war of 1812 and rebuilt in 1815) is situated in the heart of the historic district. We have 5 cosy, comfortable historic rooms and we are a short stroll to the Main Street and Shaw Festival Theatre; as well as a short drive to many of the local wineries. We offer hearty British Pub fare as well as 24 selections of draught beer on tap and 17 different wines by the glass. Live entertainment is provided on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights (Wednesday during peak season). Stop by and visit Canada's prettiest town!

The Olde Angel Inn is the oldest pub in Canada and more authentic than an English pub in England, particularly for it being built by the British during the war of 1812 era. A British soldier's ghost lives in the basement which makes this place that more exciting.

What I particularly enjoyed about this place was their authentic food. Their bangers and mash and the meatloaf Wellington was great home style comfort food, great for a cold night.

Dear pgalido;

Comfort food tastes even better when the weather turns wintry. Captain Swayze recommends a table by one of the cozy fireplaces for your next visit!

Everytime I visit NOTL, I take the time to have a beer at the Angel. I was even brave enough to stay upstairs one night but don't recall seeing any of the historical ghosts (disappointing). If you're going to stay on a weekend, take a room on the top floor as the live entertainment could keep you awake if you're not a night owl. Although the food is average pub fare, the atmosphere reminds me of many nights in local pubs in and around Manchester, England. If you're looking for fun, OK food and a truly authentic pub, the Angel is your place.

Dear deans44;

We're so glad you enjoyed your visit. The tip about the upper floor rooms is a good one. We always tell our guests at booking to expect lively evenings, especially when a band is performing. Please let us know when you stop by again and our servers will recommend a dish you'll love!

Cheers,

I really enjoy the olde angel inn. I have been 5 times and every time I go, I thoroughly enjoy the food! I had lunch there a couple of weeks ago with 5 girlfriends and every one of us loved our food. It was packed but our server was great. Our drinks came quickly and so did our food. The atmosphere is very nice...the place has a lot of history! We will all go back again one day.

You get to meet locals, tourists and a "ghost" history in this historic pub. It's our go-to pub on a cold fall and winter day because you can sit by the fire and enjoy a pint or two of local brews with a lot of great ambiance and sometimes music. Always cosy!!!

Was recommended to us to have fish n chips here by a very nice lady at Stone Church Winery. She was spot on when she told the fish n chips were very good. Nice ambience in a very old building. Great selection of their own brews, and a must try Chocolate Lindt Creme Brulee. C'est magnifique!
