We had heard about the high tea at the Prince of Wales, so tried it last week. It was disappointing. No Devonshire or Cornish cream, very ordinary sandwiches and terrible pastries and cookies. I suggest trying one of the other places in town for high tea.

We are loyal costumers of the vintage brand and this was our 5th time attending their afternoon tea. We were a large group of 11 people and we were very impressed with how hard they worked to accommodate us and place us together ( which is not easy to do with such a group size). The tea and food were great as usual but it is the people who make all the difference. Courteous, professional and friendly. Thank you!

I went to the Prince of Wales for high tea with some friends last night as the venue was having a two for the price of one special for the afternoon tea. The food was exactly what you would imagine; tiny sandwiches with the crusts cut off, pastries, scones, etc. For anyone with any dietary restrictions, I would advise letting the staff know when you make the reservation. The star of the show during our visit was the service. We had a server named Samantha who fantastic. Super friendly, very funny, and always making sure our tea pots were full. She even brought out extra vegetarian sandwiches when she found out I could not eat the ones with meat. So overall, amazing service and we loved the mini bagels!

We've been to the High Tea at Prince of Wales before. It was never the speediest in town but then again you are not looking for a fast food place here.
Service was very slow. After a long wait for a table (we had reservations, but then so did everyone else) we had the pleasure of watching three tables who had come in after us get served first.
I couldn't get the attention of a server. Then Ben came along, and personally I think you guys owe him a promotion. He was very polite , apologized and even comped us with a special little dish of candied flower petals for the inconvenience. He made the service a lot more palatable.
Yes, the tea was really good, as well as the little sandwiches, scones, and other goodies. Tea for two is a special which is nice since it usually costs $72.00 for two plus tax, plus tip. The special is half off.
At least when the four of us couples were waiting for the hostess we all got equal treatment of no acknowledgements. No eye contact, no "I'll be with you as soon as I can with a smile"
Time for a little more training and a little more supervision.

My daughter and I were at the Prince of Wales Hotel November 5th for their afternoon tea. The tea and goodies were wonderful and the atmosphere was traditional english, with beautiful decor and great service!
We did this last year and loved it and have decided to make this a yearly tradition.
Our server was very attentive despite how busy the day was. ( I think her name was Shannon) Well done we loved our experience.
