Here for lunch, we had the $ 11.95 sushi luncheon special. The server came over fairly quickly but it did take 20 minutes to get our order although it wasn't very busy at the time. A good selection of individual sushi including salmon and tuna together with 8 rice rolls. The fish was very fresh. The meal came with miso soup, salad and tea.

The restaurant is clean and the surroundings are typical Japanese dining with pine and wood throughout. You could see the chefs making the meals through the open kitchen which made for some conversation.

The food is good and quality. It is not all you can eat style.
Prices on the high scale but it is always full and busy.
Waiters are not the best but the food is good.

We thought we would try a non-all-you-can-eat sushi place and this one had mixed reviews. We were seated and provided menus quickly, but then waited too long for someone to come back and ask for our order. There is lots of selection, but we went with the Maki Mono tray that had a selection of sushi rolls e.g. spider roll, green dragon, spicy salmon and California maki (which had way too much flying fish egg on top). The entree was okay, so we ordered a Green Dragon Roll and Calamari roll - I do not recommend either. The Green Dragon Roll was so poorly rolled it was too large in diameter and the pieces were cut inconsistently, one being over 2 inches thick...and with chopsticks, it is not so easy to cut. The Calamari roll was very unappetizing as the calamari did not seem properly cooked...very soft and mushy. The upside was that the decor looked very Japanese, but the hard pine bench made me feel like I was a spectator at a basketball game for one of my kids.

My boyfriend and I love this place. We make at least two stops a month here because the quality of food is so high. Well worth the money paid.

Hint: If the place isn't busy, sit at the chef bar. We usually get random on the house tasty items.

Service used to be not so great but has improved in recent years. Food is made well, as expected and required at a non-all you can eat japanese restaurant.
