we have now done it about four times, the third a take away. Although tasty, the batter softened with the retained humidity and took away the magic crunch and freshness of eating in. This was despite the staff doing what they could, so my recommendation after having our faith restored on our last visit (albeit without mushy peas) is to enjoy the food on the premises with a pot of tea and bread butter. The coleslaw is also excellent making it by far our favourite chippy, even though we have to cross the mountain to get there.

We go to Harry's almost every Friday. The best fish in chips in the city. Not a big place but not the smallest either. Family run and the service is excellent!

This place is kind of small and can get very crowded. But having said that the Fish and Chips were very good.I had the Halibut and my Wife had the Haddock and we shared but could not tell the difference.Portions are large and reasonably priced and staff are very nice. Will return

We were told that it's the best in the city, but we cannot confirm that, but we can say there is no better place west of it. We were looking for a new place after we were disappointed twice with our previous and the pub takeaway became too expensive.
So go for the haddock, which was fresh and sweet, thinly battered and fried to perfection. Chips were good, but make sure you have the coleslaw which is between creamed and vinaigrette. The mushy peas need a bit more salt but that was fixed in ten seconds. Tea is made with boiling water and sadly we could not manage the dessert, but no doubt it is also good.
