The Discovery centre is a fantastic Halifax icon!! So great for a family outing or just to kill some time. You want to check this place out!
First time to the new spot and it was a lot of fun ,great for learning and we'll thought out.Large space with 3 floors of activities that are both physical and phonic.Go explore whether your a adult or a child.We bought the year pass because it was only 20 more than going for the day.My favorites were the craft activities..make a plane..,rocket..etc.Have fun and be a kid for a while..
Was there with a group aged 12-18. It was a lot of fun, it seemed as though the younger kids and adults equally enjoyed their time. A lot of hands on things to do. Staff was great, lots to see despite not being a huge place. Located around lots of other things to do! Reasonably priced, a must do if you are in Halifax!
Was a little pricey for admission but we could have stayed at the Discovery Centre for much longer than we did. The main levels were great for older kids and even adults curious about machines, energy, and the body. The upper level has a cafe with some amazing activities for younger kids. There are chairs so you can relax a bit while kids explore more freely. There are lots of staff to help. Parking isn't available from the Centre itself but you can park on a meter or in a pay lot nearby.
We jumped on the bandwagon last year and bought a membership and I was disappointed. Many displays broken quickly after the opening and we're still broken on the four or five times we were there last year. Bubble room never worked on any visits. Most of the displays are boring for the kids after they saw th once. For all the hype there is lots of disappointment to be had. I thought there would be much more then the old DC given all the funding, etc put into the place and it might be bigger and a little cleaner there isn't much more there to see. Won't be renewing my membership or planning to take any kids there soon
