Staying at the pebble for our first time was truly a blessing. For ease, let us list some of the important items upfront. The home is beautiful, beds are comfortable, luxurious bathrooms, breakfasts were local, fresh and incredibly delicious (we are foodies - you can’t get breakfast like this other places) and the neighborhood is adorable / perfectly located for visiting Halifax and other popular sights. Our room also had water views. The showers were a treat, with plenty of space, great water pressure, and high-end Molten & Brown products. Our room was also refreshed each day with fresh pressed linens like at a five star hotel. It quickly became clear to us how much love and care has gone into both the home itself and also the experience of staying there. We enjoyed the social areas out on the patio in the morning and in the living room at night beside the complimentary bar, browsing through a wide selection of cool books.

Now for some of the intangibles. My wife and I are pretty social, which Liz must have picked up on quickly having hosted many people over the years. So we got to know her and David on the first day over some homemade scones / jam and freshly brewed tea. For me at least, sometimes I’ll shy away from chatting too much, but I’m so glad we didn’t. We left the pebble feeling like we found a home in Halifax and having made two new friends. I’m not joking when I say my wife and I were both pleasantly surprised when we found out our ferry was cancelled and we would be staying another night at the pebble. There are so many subtle touches about this place it’d be hard to express it all in words, but in short we highly recommend it for anyone and hope to visit again in the future!

the best B&B ever, everything is perfect, I loved every single detail, starting from the room, bathroom, breakfast (was delicious), we had a nice conversation every morning, with other guests, and Eliz, the host, she is a gem :-)

From the first breakfast of smoked salmon eggs Benny and a hearty round of singing Whiskey in the Jar, to instigating a small dance party at our third and final (equally excellent) brekkie, we knew we had found our people. Thanks to people like Dave and Elizabeth, the Maritimes more than lived up to its reputation for warmth and friendliness.

The food was excellent and made with care. The rooms have equal attention to detail. Air conditioning was welcome in the Garret for a couple of warm nights. The fresh hydrangea blossoms in the bathroom a nice added touch.

Super convenient to Kings College and Dalhousie, we walked downtown as well.

The whole family was sorry to leave. We will count the days until we can return.

On a recent road trip that included Halifax Nova Scotia, we chose the Pebble B&B as our base for exploring Halifax. We did not regret that choice. The setting on side street in a quiet neighborhood made for a relaxing stay at the property and the location was perfect for getting to and from the city center and other nearby sites. Our hosts were friendly, helpful, and attentive to our needs. The friendly banter around the breakfast table with other guests and our hosts was lively and enjoyable. The accommodation was excellent as were the wonderful breakfasts. If Halifax is included in future travel plans we will stay at the Pebble again.

My family and I recently stayed at The Pebble B&B while touring Universities and it was the highlight of our trip. The host and hostess are absolutely delightful and their home is lovely. After a long drive we arrived to such a warm reception, beautifully appointed rooms with the most spectacular view of the water and given a fabulous recommendation for dinner-Eliot and Vine.
Our beds were so comfortable, linen pressed and duvet plump making it difficult to get up and get going. Breakfast did not disappoint, seated in her beautiful kitchen enjoying the best Irish Oatmeal I have ever had served with homemade jam and biscuits and French Press Coffee and fresh juice.
We look forward to visiting this beautiful gem again.
