Charming and small garden to walk around in or sit on many of the benches and watch the world go by. It’s free to get in too. The garden paths are all gravel and pebbles, so ensure you wear appropriate shoes. Great location too, right across from the restaurant and shopping Mecca of Spring Garden Rd and 10min away from the Halifax Citadel.

We enjoyed walking through the gardens. They are beautiful and relaxing. Lovely gazebo in the middle.

The gardens combine the best of the past and the present. There are huge old trees, including mature American Chestnuts trees which have been eliminated from the US by blight. There is a Victorian bandstand and 19th century statuary and old-fashioned plant beds. But there is also a wonderful display of modern dahlia varieties as well as other contemporary plantings. A real oasis in the city for everyone, with special attractions for serious gardeners.
