Great beds, friendly staff and good location but our bathroom fan didn't work and the tub did not drain. We were disappointed after spending that much money.
Mall is attached so we had Starbucks, Tims, A&W and McDonalds to choose from which really helped because the breakfast at their restaurant was very expensive.

It was great to hear the feedback on our friendly staff and great location. We apologize our team did not catch that the tub drain was clogged in advance of your arrival.

We are were in town visiting for 5 days with our little one. We booked the Delta because we are Marriott silver members and the location seemed perfect for sightseeing.

The hotel is close to the waterfront and the attached small shopping centre with food court was convenient. We used the pool a few times and the water was warm and clean. Parking lot is attached to the property with in/out privileges.

I was disappointed to find out after our arrival that some rooms have walkout patios as it was not advertised clearly on the Delta site when we booked. We definitely would have selected that option had it been presented to us. We were also given an adjoining room without being notified of it at check in so we could request another room at that point. Adjoining rooms have poor sound insulation. After a nearly 10 hour drive and a cranky baby, we weren't in the mood to switch rooms after unloading all our luggage. We are currently hearing our next door neighbors pretty clearly through the inside door and I'm sure they are also thrilled with our baby's cries. The room is basic and feels very cramped. I have a hard time getting through the narrow entrance hallway with a stroller while holding the door open to exit the room so keep that in mind if traveling with small children. Room is clean but in need of an upgrade and there is significant construction noise one can hear from the 4th floor. Ask for an upper level room if you want to get some rest. The bathroom is also fairly small. No coin laundry on site and no microwave in the room.

Overall for the price we are paying ($169+tx and parking) we expected a more comfortable stay. We have 2 more days remaining of our visit and I guess we'll make do. I've stayed at impeccable Delta properties before (Waterloo, ON and Toronto) and had an excellent experience so perhaps my review is a bit biased.

Greetings from Halifax,

Thank-you for taking the time to review your experience to others. It is great to hear you enjoyed our location overall. It is our goal to ensure our guests have a comfortable sleep, and enjoy their stay. We would have been more than willing to upgrade your room to a room with a patio, or a room that was quieter for you and your family. Detailed room options should have been communicated to you at the time of reservation and check-in. We are confident we can host a better experience for your next stay.

Please feel free to contact me directly the next time you are in town.

very clean and friendly hotel. rooms were clean and the beds extremely comfortable. a little far from city centre and near all activities but an easy walk to the harbour. the pool was great as was the hot tub. the restaurant in the hotel served very good meals and the wait staff are very knowledgeable and friendly. was more suited for business travellers. next time i would try to find a room closer to restaurants and downtown centre but am not opposed to staying there again. it would be a huge bonus if they supplied an airport shuttle as the trip was quite pricey and not convenient.

Room Tip: offer good early and late checkout options.

Location, location, location.
You are not going to find better value in a downtown water view property in Halifax. This hotel is located steps away from the waterfront, is attached to the ped way and Scotia square.

It was with Check in that I immediately noticed a difference at this hotel. The service was amazing. The desk was attentive, helpful and seemed pleased to do their job. Great job team! We were asked if we had a preference of floors in the hotel when checking in and if we needed help in finding any local attractions.

The hotel itself is a bit on the dated side, but it is very nice. It was clean and comfortable. My friend and I did use the pool which is in the gym area. The gym was great for a hotel gym. The equipment looked new and well maintained. There was a water cooler, clean towels (and even chilled towels in a fridge). The pool has seen better days, but it was clean and overall just fine for our use.

At one point in the evening we asked the front desk to direct us to where we could buy a little carton of milk for cereal and the employee actually went and got us a big glass of milk from the back. I have never had a hotel do that before. We were super impressed.

This is going to be my new downtown spot. It was significantly less expensive than other hotels, has easy access parking and you can get to almost anywhere down town using the pedways.

Had another great stay at the Delta Halifax. Stayed here for business, but it is also conveniently located for great restaurants, shopping and exploring downtown.

Requested a room away from the elevators which was honored no problem. Turned off the AC unit for most of the stay as it is very noisy when it cuts in.

Bed was comfortable although it squeaked a little. The bathroom was clean and housekeeping was great. Also used the pool and hot tub which were both nice.

I used the fitness centre every morning and found it was crowded most days. There are only 2 treadmills so if you aren't there at 6am they get taken quickly.

The Harbour Grill is a great restaurant and Thursday night of our stay they had a wine tasting night. It was $25 for 3 local wines and a charcuterie board. Jayelle, who is a Sommelier with the Delta, was amazing. She stayed to talk to us, answered all of our questions and gave us some great wine suggestions. The servers were also wonderful and the breakfast buffet is not to be missed.

Overall it was a great stay, great staff and wonderful facilities. Although I have considered changing up my hotel when on business in Halifax, I keep coming back to the Delta.
