Like many, I was drawn to this museum to see Halifax’s Titanic connection and look at objects and read information related to that.

But what fascinated me was the whole Halifax explosion story. I’m not sure how well known this is outside of Canada but this was a collision of two ships causing the greatest manmade explosion prior to the bombing of Hiroshima. City blocks were disintegrated. Anyway the story of that time is well shown here. Even better, and this is what drew me in, is to join the museum tour. Their passionate rendering of the events of that day in 1917 was incredible.

Loved the museum! There is a beautiful parrot in the entrance to greet you & say hello! I was very interested in the history of Halifax & the disaster. There is also some information outside of the Museum at the docks in the back. Time well spent!

Good Titanic exhibition and lots about the Halifax explosion of 1917. If you're into nautical things then this is the place for you.

This was interesting history and lots of detail about various ships and how they're built. Of course, there was a Titanic exhibit and lots of information about the Canadian Navy. The section that most impressed me, however, was the tribute to women at the beginning of the museum displays. It was well-done and fascinating.

We had a great time here. There’s tons to see and learn about- from real ships to whisper phones to artifacts from the Titanic and the Halifax Explosion. (These made me a bit emotional, I can’t lie!)The model ships are amazing to look at, too.
