Do you like beer? You should like 2 Crows. The beers are great. This was basically our first stop in Halifax on a rainy summer day, and we're glad we could get a sampler tray of some nice brews while getting shielded form the rain. They have a nice brewery vibe, right in the middle of downtown (and was told they sometimes have food on offer). Was so happy to take some home in cans (which are and well priced) which I'm enjoying now, at home, on the other side of the country. Especially loved the Jamboree strawberry-guava sour and the Pollyanna wild northeast IPA. Two delicious beers. I would go back to the east coast for these bad boys.
There are some unique beers here, but mostly sours, which we don't like. The brewing area is open to the seating area, which is cool.
My very first taste of craft beer was here. They did not disappoint. Their beers are imaginative, inviting and refreshing. I enjoyed a flight so I could learn and develop my palate that has been trained largely on wines. This is a small brewery with knowledgeable friendly staff and a good measure of regular customers. Definitely worth a visit for out of towners.
Nice and cozy place to enjoy a good beer with friends. We were there early evening and the place was crowded. Good service, friendly staff. Pet friendly !
We were recommended 2 Crows by the guys at Good Robot who told us they had similar styles. They were spot on there as both of these breweries had similar yet unique tastes. We tried a flight of the Pecadillo Oat Pilsner, Wild Skies sour beer, Little Rodeo Grisette, and Thunderdome Sour. All were very good. We had tried many sour beers on our trip to NS and were really enjoying them. The Wild Skies gave some of the other ones we tried a run for their money!
I've read some other reviews that mention the lack of hospitality or engaging conversation from the guys working here, and we actually agree with those reviewers. Although the place was great and beers even better, the staff could work a bit more on smiling and offering polite conversation. They seemed quite indifferent and closed off while we were there. Nice when we were talking to them and paying at the end, but it would have been nice to learn a bit about the place. My husband often asks probing questions to find out cool tidbits of info everywhere we go, but after being received with little interest he gives up on the small talk. Such was our experience here.
It was however, interesting to see many people come in simply to buy a 4 pack of beer and be on their way. The location seems to be good; close to local transportation that brought in many people who just grabbed beer to go!
Small, cool-looking place near our hotel. Pretty empty the night we were there (around 7pm). Server was great about chatting about the beers and also recommending somewhere for a bite afterwards. Definitely recommend stopping by when you are in Halifax!
