“Best donairs and pizza.”
Review of Sunken Dorey Pizza - CLOSED

Sunken Dorey Pizza
Price range: US$3 - US$24
Description: A small Gourmet Pizza Restaurant immediately East of North America's only tidal station in Annapolis Royal on Highway #1 in Granville Ferry (about 2 kms east past tidal station) we offer pizza made daily using freshly prepared dough and produce prepared every morning before opening for the day. Donairs are made from a vertical 'spic' broiler and 8 ounces of meat is cut fresh off the spic and a final steaming in the pizza oven in a clean 'open environment' so everyone gets to see their meal prepared fresh. The two kitchen's have an 'open-to-public view' and locals love watching their dough pressed on the pro commercial dough presses, the second establishment known to have such a press in all Nova Scotia! This press gives you 'hand needed dough' results in seconds rather than minutes per dough! We offer what nearly all our regulars consider the best pizza in NS based on our dough and fresh ingredients and chef/owner created pizzas that cover the entire dough 'edge to edge' so when you purchase a 12", 14" or 16" pizza your getting 12", 14" or 16" worth of ingredients that cover the dough entirely! Everything is prepared fresh daily! Here at Sunken Dorey Pizza we want you to experience pizza like never before seen, and leave wanting to come back again! Our motto is... "Fresh is Best" "Inspired by Taste - Devoted to Quality" We use only the best ingredients available with cost being sacrificed for quality, we even use virgin olive oil spray to oil our pans and dough presses!

Fresh ingredients and fast friendly service. One of the best donairs I've had in Canada for sure. Homemade pizza dough, huge slices of pizza with lots of toppings.

After sampling some really good seafood in Nova Scotia, we were looking for a pizza place. This place was well-rated and it had a poutine pizza (how Canadian is that?). They use house-made gravy for the sauce layer, top with house-cut fries, bacon and ground beef, and white cheddar cheese curds. When baked, the fries and cheese crisped to a wonderful crunchiness. The only thing that could have improved this meal was an ice cold Keith's Red Ale, will need to do take-away next time ;)

Visiting from out of town and looking for an easy dinner after a long day. Had a pizza and some lobster subs for the family and everything was delicious. Had a good chat with the the owner as he is very outgoing and willing to share his story. The service level was excellent and I would not hesitate to recommend the place. We will probably be back again before we leave for home.

We ended up here because we forgot everything closes early in small towns and we wanted dinner (it was about 8PM). Luckily, we found this place! We had a lovely chat with the owner who has worked extremely hard to make Sunken Dorey Pizza a reality, and I think Annapolis Royal is lucky to have him. If you want great pizza, check this place out! It was super good.

This is a new business and from what I saw, it will be very successful and the service was great, choices were many and it is family owned and run. Polite staff and very clean. If in the area and you like pizza, you won't find any better nor more variety of items as tasty as theirs. Thanks.
