We went there for lunch today after trying yesterday to book dinner reservation but it was all booked up for the next two days, just to show you how popular this place is and not surprising as it is a very unique and lovely place to dine with great food, very well presented and excellent service and a homely atmosphere. We chose to eat out at the back over looking the gardens. Just lovely. The selection of smoked and pickled Nova Scotia fish as a starter was just wonderful, the warm bread rolls were to die for and we tried the Black Cab red wine from Nova Scotia which we really enjoyed.
Great place.

We were coming from Halifax on our way to The Trout Point Lodge. We highly trust trip advisor's reviews and once again, spot on ! The food was outstanding, LOVED the mushroom soup !

This was my first visit, ordered the Smoked Salmon special. Really delicious, it was served with a caesar salad and bread roll. You may eat inside with air coditioning or outside under parasols. The seating is limited(counted 22 seats inside, not sure about outside), I recommend going early(before noon), mid afternoon or make a reservation. The service was very fast, friendly and efficient. For me the best part was the colorful decor, loved the colors. Highly recommend.

We heard about the Cafe and arrived on a rainy Saturday afternoon and were lucky to be seated almost immediately. The hostess and waitstaff could not have been warmer or more helpful. We had the best seafood chowder several of us had was simply fabulous and later the Chef Roland revealed that a local craft beer gave it a complementary flavor. The scallop and lobster gratin was another all time winner as were salmon cakes with an orange, ginger sauce. This was cooking with a continental flare that would appeal to the most sophisticated foodies. Friends of ours living in Lunenberg, who have lived and traveled around the world, confirmed out impressions. Our chat with the chef added a final flavor to a truly exquisite meal in a simple setting. Nice crafts in the shop as well.

We ate dinner here last night and really enjoyed everything about it. You enter through an interesting little shop selling jewelry, cards and artwork before being ushered into the cosy dining room. The service is very friendly but professional and the food is excellent. We enjoyed the scallops and the rack of lamb as well as some starters. They have a nice selection of Nova Scotia wines in addition to some international selections. We would definitely recommend this lovely spot so book ahead for dinner before you arrive in town.
