We chose the Current for dinner prior to an event at the Forks. There is the challenge of construction at the Inn, but we waited an above average time for service, when we saw the server come to the edge of the patio twice before finally acknowledging us. Once we did get his attention, drinks were fine, ambiance of the patio very nice with lots of fresh veggies growing just beyond the seating area. Again, it was a challenge to get the attention to place our order, because we did have critical time commitments. When we did, the food was very good...my Bruschetta, and my Husband's choice of Club. Very good.

Recently ate here with three other women while staying in the area for a conference. We all enjoyed our meals which were unique and a bit unusual. The food was perfectly prepared and attractively presented. The variety of butters served with the warm bread were delightful. The service was good, but the food took quite a while to arrive. The decor is very attractive. Didn't have room for dessert after the main course!

We heard this was a gourmet restaurant, right in our hotel so went in for dinner, almost the only diners. The bread was not fresh, not warm, and the 3 kinds of butter were all mediocre. The starters were not very good but large. Everything was bloopy and a bit heavy. Then the main came, supposedly a fresh northern manitoba pickerel. It was heavily breaded like in a cheap sports bar. It had no flavor, surely frozen long ago.

Fortunately we brought our own good wine, but they actually had a decent but pricey wine menu. Well, they had a lot of mediocre wines and a few exotic very high priced ones.

If what we had was at all typical of what you will get, this restaurant is a bad joke. How could it be at all possible to reconcile the reviews here with this food? Maybe the chef was sick and the desk clerk filled in. Believe me, don't eat here. My stomach is giving me problems like the ones I got from Radisson's in Rockford Illinois.

Last night we ate at the Duluth grill, in Duluth Minnesota for 1/7 the price of this meal, and had fresh ingredients and delicious food.

I haven't been here for a meal, but I went with some friends for drinks in the evening and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. They had a pretty good live jazz band playing, and we were impressed with the selection of scotch. They've also got a few nice craft beers on their bottle list, which was a pleasant surprise - probably the only place in the city you can get a bottle of Unibroue's Trois Pistoles outside of the Liquor Mart. Decently friendly staff, nice atmosphere. I wasn't expecting much, but we had a good time.

I've been to the lounge several times to listen to live jazz, and love the atmosphere there. Food is pricey, but a person can linger, and really enjoy the music. The lounge chairs are very comfortable.

Recent experience at the restaurant: A group of 9 arrived for our reservation at 11:30 on a Friday for lunch, thinking we would beat the lunch rush. The restaurant was not overly busy - less than 1/2 of the tables were full. For the most part, we knew what we wanted to eat. There were long gaps between getting the menus and having our order taken, finishing the meal and getting the dessert menu and desserts, and getting the bill. It took over 3.25 hours to get through soup, main course, and desert (not because we lingered of our own accord). We hadn't budgeted that much time on a weekday. Another group in the same area as us was in and out much more quickly - perhaps we should have said we were in a hurry.

Overall, we were satisfied with the food, though a salmon filet had to be sent back a couple of times because it was underdone, and the french onion soup seemed overly salty. They were good at acknowledging and adapting to dietary restrictions/allergies.

The dessert menu was sadly lacking in detail. "Blood Orange Cheesecake, Dark Chocolate" was not a dark chocolate cheesecake with a blood orange flavour, but rather a blood orange flavoured cheesecake with a dark chocolate crumb crust and a bit of dark chocolate drizzle on the plate. It was OK, but not what one would anticipate from the description. Fresh ice cream was a hit - lots of nuts in the macadamia nut ice cream. Dessert plating/presentation was lovely.
