McNally Robinson’s Book Store on Grant Avenue in Winnipeg is an indepndent book store featuring the best of Canadian authors.
Prairie Ink Restaurant is nestled in one corner. A trendy spot to visit, be prepared to browse the bookstore for 20 minutes if you don’t have a reservation for lunch. Hadn’t had their African Peanut soup for years, but was delicious as always, served with a piece of foccacia bread, and filling enough to call it a meal. Nice variety of flavoured teas. Service was prompt, friendly, and competent.

Went to Prairie Ink for lunch and once again received excellent service and food. Our server was pleasant and helpful and our food (pulled pork sandwich and bbq chicken pizza) delicious. A great restaurant in a great bookstore!

If you like reading, then you will enjoy the menu - there's so much to read. It's confusing and trying far too hard to a little bit of everything; in the end not having anything.

The restaurant is unexpectedly loud and echoes. It's expensive too and unfortunately, not worth it.

I needed to grab breakfast before two flights where there was no option of food on board. I didn't need a huge breakfast or to spend 15.00 for a snack. Only after saying I wanted something small did the server mention a toast option. Perfect! Just enough and with coffee I was able to have something to eat under 10.00.

We had a lovely supper at Prairie Ink Restaurant last night and, to extend the fun, took home an assortment of attractive pastries ( half-dozen sesame chocolate macarons, date square, two fruit tarts).

The salmon with poached pear was outstanding, albeit a little pricey. We ordered the bison burger with house salad two different ways (Bacon Cheddar and Mushroom Swiss)--delicious!

Service was excellent, both at the table and at the pastry take-out counter.

We were intrigued by the dinner special featuring chicken, but were told that it would take 20 minutes to arrive at our table, so we passed.

The restaurant was very busy--there was a definite buzz in the room; it looks like business is good!
